Worth a purchase
While admittedly this does fall into the trapping of the ending being predictable, it is still nevertheless compelling and the late Rene Auberjonois does bring a good narration of the story to the table along with a good impression of Quark.
It's pretty dark and grim in areas and the race introduced from the Gamma Quadrant are certainly a credible if a little cliché threat. Cliché isn't necessarily bad however as the threat to Deep Space Nine is still very effective.
A story worth sinking your teeth into if you are fans of Deep Space Nine.

Frustrating
Imagine watching an episode of DS9 where every character is voiced by Odo. Now imagine watching that episode with your eyes closed. Now imagine spending an Audible credit for the pleasure.

Fallen Heroes Review
This audiobook was well constructed and the abridged version contained the story well. It was a bit worrying
when the audiobook was only 2hr 9 min in length compared to the novel but it held through to be an entertaining piece of fiction.

Super!
This is one of my favorite Star Trek books of all time, in any of the series. The audiobook production heightens the excitement of the actual book. Even though I knew the story well, I couldn't stop listening. Rene Auberjonois gives a superb performance.
Yes, Yes! This is the one Deep Space Nine audiobook you should definitely buy!

Ahhh, so-so
Sorry, Richard from Texas, this was NOT "super", IMO. It was ok. Rene Auberjonois was very good - earned five stars. But the storyline was trite. I DID listen to the whole book, but it was certainly not compelling. I am a long-time fan of Star Trek (as is my entire family), but I was left wanting more plot - more story - more excitement. No, I do not recommend this book.

It Was Okay
I got this audiobook since the late Rene Auberjonis passed away back in December of last year, I thought it would be nice to hear him reprise his role as “Odo”. I thought he did alright capturing “Quark” compared to the rest of the DS9 crew, but nonetheless still a good job. The story was “meh”.

Action Packed Star Trek Adventure
What made the experience of listening to Star Trek, Deep Space Nine: Fallen Heroes (Adapted) the most enjoyable?
This was an action packed adventure, made even better by the performance of Rene Auberjonois.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Trek, Deep Space Nine: Fallen Heroes (Adapted)?
All of the major characters face some sort of challenge. The resolution was even better.
Have you listened to any of Rene Auberjonois’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Rene Auberjonois does a fantastic job narrating this book. First, he is a great actor. Secondly, his character of Odo is a main character and he plays him just like the show. He was fantastic.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, but to share those moments, would be spoilers and I don't want to do that.
Any additional comments?
All around great audio experience. The author did a fantastic job.

Well performed with a slightly underwhelming story
Rene is of course wonderful, though some of his character voice choices were a bit odd.
The premise of the story was actually quite good, but winds up feeling like the author had a deadline to hit and rushed to complete it, giving it a somewhat incomplete feel. And I don't mean just the end, it is just like they went from outline to finished without putting in the details that could have taken it from good to great.
I'd recommend it for someone like me that is (was) craving anything DS9 to help fill in some story. You must already have a full and deep understanding of DS9 and these characters, otherwise, you will be left unsatisfied since you won't have the knowledge and understanding to fill in some of the gaps in the story.

Gripping but unrealistic
The story was one big catastrophe another so compelling, well narrated and the writing was okay but anyone who knows the series wouldnt feel all the characters ring true.

action from start to finish
A very enjoyable audiobook. I loved the reader and the story line was first rate star trek. There were many tense moments portrayed in this audiobook that enhanced the listening experience. Just a good time.
