Summary

Murdered contortionists aren't exactly what Vivienne signed up for when she ran away to join the circus. But like most things under the big top, nothing is what it seems. With a past she can't quite remember, Vivienne finds that running away forever might not be as appealing as it once sounded - because forever means something quite different at the Cirque des Immortels.

Aided by her friends Kingston - a feisty stage magician whose magic is quickly stealing her heart - and his sarcastic assistant Melody, Vivienne finds herself racing against the clock to discover the culprit behind a series of deaths that should be impossible. However, the answer she seeks might reveal more about her own bloody past - and future - than she bargains for.

The show's just beginning. Step right up....

I Swear if I hear "says" again i am going to screa

Would you listen to The Immortal Circus again? Why?

I most likely will not listen to it again, do to the fact that the author doesn't seem to realize that there are more than one tense, to the word "say""He says" "I says" "she says" "Mab says" I mean come on! there is say said says. I felt like they really needed a thesaurus to cover the lack of vocabulary. Other than this little and very annoying issue, the book was great. It was a enjoy take on the faye courts.

Slow start, hard to get into but gets better

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This book was very hard to get into and lacked direction till the end. However, second book gets more into the story.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The concept is good but not strong. Second book is more embracive and worth reading the first.

What does Amy McFadden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She does a great job with Lilith character and overall great will all the voices. She paints a good picture.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Yes, I would like to see this as a movie. I believe it could be amazing if produced right.

Eyerollingly awful

This book is so poorly written that it is sometimes painful. The narration is good but the story is simple awful and uninteresting. The only people who might enjoy it are angsty teenager and dissatisfied housewives.

Wish I could get my money back…

The title says it all, I wish I could get my money back. I listened to this a long time ago, and still remember how much I disliked it to this day. Just haven’t figured out how to return this and spend my money/credit on a book I’d like better. You win some, you lose some, I guess.

Dynamic Performance!

Like alot of people, I wanted to join the circus as a kid. As an adult, I want to join THIS circus. Loved the characters and the world built by the author. The performance was spot-on and believable with most of the characters. I enjoyed listening to this story while driving. The only drawback, if any, was that the plot was a bit predictable, clearly leaving a nugget or two for Book Two. And I will, of course, move on to Book 2 just because...

mystical story

I enjoyed the book, but was a little put off by all the swear words. lots of F**** that added nothing to the story line, and detracted from the story in my opinion. The love interest part was a little weak, almost like the author thought the story wasn't enough in itself and it was necessary to add a very odd romance. It was entertaining, but I probably won't read the next book in the series.

Meh

The main character is a little too focused on her angsty love interest and the dialogue isn't great. Creative concept, thought it had promise, but I'm disappointed.

Wonderful listen!

This audiobook was an incredibly excellent experience! I had not heard of this series but it showed up in my "suggestions," and I loved it! Amy's narration is superb! Can't wait to hear the next in the series.
