Great adaption.

A well done adaption of the late Michael's Piller's script which kicked off Deep Space Nine coupled with Nana Visitor's splendid narration. If you are a fan of Deep Space Nine, this is definitely worth having in your collection.

(On a side note, Visitor's voice for Dax caught me off guard, it almost sounds uncannily like Terry Farrell's.)

Redefining the future

Emissary, the pilot for Star Trek: Deep Space 9, may be the greatest science fiction story ever filmed; & KIRA Nerys actress Nana Visitor gives the spoken word version of this film every sympathy it needs. Ms V doesn't attempt to immitate the voices of her castmates - a plus, in my mp3 player - but instead gives a complex, character & narrative driven tale a powerful intimacy. Great stuff

The best Star Trek Series Narrated perfectly

Nana Visitors narration lifts this story to an exciting and enjoyable listening experience, the story is good, but the performance lifts it to the next level. My fave all time audio book, I had it on cassette back in the 90's. Audible to the rescue.

Nana Visitor is outstanding

I love Star Trek, so perhaps I am not objective. But I think Nana Visitor's reading of this story sets the bar for what a 5-star performance rating should be. Magnificent. She brings the story to life.

An ABSOLUTE Ride!!!

Nana doesn’t just read us a story and leave it there. She acts out an entire drama in a way that not only brought it to life, but made it her own.

That said, the story itself was an amazingly written love letter to the fans of the Star Trek Deep Space 9 series. It was an added treat to have Major Kira read it to us! What sets the story apart from the episode it was written about is the in-depth introspection with Commander Sisko and, oddly enough, Captain Picard. Definitely worth the listen.

The Emissary Arrives

I am a star trek fan from forever and a deep space nine fan from the moment it began. I I loved the audible performance of Emissary. The story is great and you do get a bit more insight into the characters inner voices than from the TV episode which is what I like the most. The narrator , Nana Visitor, was great. It made the performance so much better having one of the deep space nine actors as the narrator. The only thing that would have made it better would be to have it be longer. Also I wish audible would do more unabridged deep space nine audible performances. Alexia, are you listening?
