Summary

The winds of fate are shifting, and it finally seems like they’ve been twisted in our favor.

On the run and cast out from society, we’ve been forced to hide from the madman who stole our throne. But as more secrets come to light, and my sister and I work harder than ever before to reach our potential and claim our birthright, the end is finally drawing closer. There is no turning from this path now.

The curse chases on our heels as time rushes by, and the blood-drenched destiny of the man I love looms ever closer just like the monster who stole our throne. We must prepare for the final battle, but three things are clear now—the cards have already been dealt, blood will spill for a new future to rise, and the stars themselves can’t help us.

The fight for the throne is upon us. All hail the heartless sky.

Powerful, enthralling Storytelling

Agony! Soul-destroying agony! That is how I feel after reading this book and getting to that ending! However, it wasn't all bad as the authors gave us a lot of good things before driving us off the cliff as they laugh manically like the evil geniuses' they are.

Seth has absolutely no self-preservation skills in Heartless Sky and really needs to learn to listen to the advice given, put his big boy pants on and just stop beating around the bush! The tension between him and Caleb sky rockets and in true Seth fashion he can't help but ruin everything so badly it had me both raging at him and wanting to give him snuggles. As it is Seth he also had me crying with laughter at his crazy antics and when he finally meets another equally as funny character from a previous series its even more hilarious!

Do they give us these happy moments to lull us into a false sense of security? Yes. Did they wrap us up in soft blankets and pillows that make us feel warm and cosy and then incinerate them into ash never to be used again? By the stars, yes! Did they give us lots and lots of werewolf snuggles to sate our werewolf instincts then force us to go cold turkey? Most definitely! Do the authors give us some of what we have been begging for? Absolutely. Does this make up for the ending? Ask me again in a few days. Do I still think you should start this series? Without a shadow of a doubt 100%! After all how can you experience true happiness without pain? The dawn is always darkest just before the light!

The audio narrators are some of my favourites having down other series by these authors they are the perfect ones that bring this story to life. These authors are on another level of skill when it comes to the powerful, emotional story telling they create and Heartless Sky is one of their best works! Immediately they have you feeling something and so engrossed in the story more than any other author I have ever read.

Heartless Sky is just perfection, a beast of a story but well worth the hours needed to listen to the entire thing! Highly recommend this series and book to anyone Heartless Sky is more than a good story its a work of art! A true masterpiece!

Another Book?

This should have been the last book in this series, in my opinion. This book could have easily answered the cliffhangers in the last book. We didn’t need another battle to look forward to, someone else not being able to act freely, two main characters not knowing how to let their feelings show. These twins have had so much awful stuff happen to them. You almost hate to see something go right for them because they pay for it ten times over. It’s ridiculous. This series should be called Unlucky Twins. I’m not looking forward to the next book. At this point I’m not sure anything is worth all this.

Bordeaux VO just does not miss

Jake and Bridget Bordeaux have once again taken an already perfect book and made it that much better with their voice work. The way these narrators are able to seamlessly shift between such wildly different characters and personify them better than I could ever imagine in every book that they narrate never ceases to amaze me. This is another must listen.

Vulgar

Tons of sex and vulgar language that ruined it. Felt forced, but not for all these scenes. Just cheapened the read.

Epic listen

Holy mother of all emotions! This book threw me through the ringer. Seriously. I laughed so hard I almost peed myself at Xavier antics. I cried…. A lot. Seriously so much. I swooned. So much swoony goodness. And the rage!!!!! Wtf is happening and just no. I don’t accept it. This series has been so different in every book and I have to say this one has the most happening! So much going on! I am seriously tongue tied as how to describe this book other then to say it’s amazing. I am emotional beat down in the best way and the worst way and I will be stalking for the next book!

Narrators knocked it out if the park once again! Bringing so much life to these characters and taking an emotion rollar coaster and making it epic!

Darci

So far it's not a bad series, just roll my eyes when Darci is up, is she a bad ass on the verge of crying constantly? breathy and whiny.. it's hard to listen to sometimes. otherwise it's a good time killer at work. Geraldine is the best!

Sounds off?

I’ve waited and waited for the audible for this series because it’s soooo long to read and I loved the previous ones, this audio just immediately sounded so off and different lol but “va bene” I’m still going to listen and read along. still love the narrators

Amazing!

I've seen some bad reviews for this book, but it could be my favorite in the series. I loved hearing from all the differe t characters, and I just loved everyone's time in the Burrows. I laughed out loud and cried like a baby. I'm devastated I have to wait almost 6 months for thr last book!

Epic - Equally Awesome and Long

It’s hard to criticize a series you love because it hasn’t ended. But we’re getting pretty close to “too much of a good thing” - or “bad thing” if you’re overwhelmed by the never ending strife without much to feel good about.

That said, by the end of Heartless Sky you’ll have felt all the feelings you’d expect and then some. I cried more in this book than all of the others combined.

I’m also leaning towards the opinion some have expressed about the authors going a little overboard with the number of sex scenes. It’s a little gratuitous and redundant in this installment - definitely over the top relative to the other books.
