Summary

After the death of my mother and her Bonded, I was relieved to find my own Bonds.

I was sure everything would be okay if I had them.

It wasn’t.

The fate of our people is in my hands, and I know we’re better off if I’m alone.

After five years on the run, I’m caught and dragged back to face the men I ran away from.

I thought I was doing the right thing.

Now, I’m not so sure.

North, Nox, Gryphon, Atlas, and Gabe may never forgive me, but one thing is for sure.

I won’t ever forgive myself.

Broken Bonds is a full-length reverse harem PNR novel with material that may be difficult for some listeners. This book will end on a cliff-hanger. It's recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations. Book 1 of 6.

Everything I wanted!

Really enjoyed this story and loved the characters, I found it a little slow in parts but still kept me intrigued and couldn’t stop listening! Started the next book straight away.

Thought the narrator does a good job, the different voices are good and not distracting at all.

My favourite series of 2022 on audio

I adore this authors other books and her audios are excellent, This series is looking to be no different. I planned to listen to this slowly just to remember all of the small details I may have forgotten from my read through months ago. These being as addictive as they are had me driving the long way home just so I could listen for longer. Praying for traffic so that I could lose myself in this world again. Then being devastated that I can’t jump straight into the next one yet.
Definitely worth listening to, if you’ve read the books or not the audios will not disappoint you.

Amazing

Fantastic storyline, one of my favourite series this year. This is an enchanting audio performed by a brilliant narrator. I cannot wait for the next audio to be available for this series 😍

Almost DNF but....

Okay first, the performance is really good. Very happy with that. But it was brutal sitting through this book tbh. The amount of times the F word is used and the constant constant talking about killing in a joking or passive aggressive reference was BRUTAL to listen through. I have no problem with blood and gore and cussing, but listening to Oli talk and her inner monologue just was bordering on insufferable. HOWEVER, I stuck it out because it didn't seem as if the author was just failing to come up empty handed with other ways to say things, it seemed very purposeful and about the individual character. so I just crossed my fingers and kept pushing through.

PAY OFF at the last hour and a half or so. And I will say the next five books are SOOO worth it. I was hooked and couldn't stop. I'm not waiting for book six to come out and while I listened to the next two on Audible I switched to kindle to read book 4 and 5, and as soon as those come out on audible I'll be listening to them again!

This is a very slow burn RH. There is more spice in the following books. More character development, relationship development, and the plot gets thicker and much more engaging in the following books!

On the note of the RH. I've read two other RH series now, and I barely made it through those. I don't really care for RH but this book series has completely changed my mind! It was done SO well. So if you're on the fence about RH books, give this one a try!

I couldn’t finish

The narrator sounds like she’s reading slam poetry the entire time, holy crap it drove me crazy. I gave up, I can’t finish it. I’m confused and I had difficulty remembering who is who and what is even going on. Why does Oil, or whatever her name is, sound like she’s on the verge of going into war and making her last speech. The author tries so hard to make the character relatable and just fails miserably. “I’ll never have an 8 pack because I JuSt LoVe cHoCoLaTe SOoo mUch”. Instant eye roll at her “tiny pouch” of a stomach she describes. What is likable about this character? The author legit has her complain for the first 3 chapters because how she hasn’t eaten in 4 days…..4 days…..yeah okay…..very realistic considering that still didn’t shut her up. She’s annoying, whiny, will not stop talking about how she sacrificed sooo much for her bonds so they should be grateful, even though they have zero idea of what she’s supposedly done. How does a reader enjoy reading in the perspective of such an awful personality? Are we reading about some babe who grew up on the run for the past 5 years, or are we reading about some 12 year old girl who angrily writes in her diary every night because ScHoOl iS hArD. She complains about every, Gino’s girl because they’re making heart eyes at the bonds she doesn’t want. She’s a pick me girl, I rest my case. Booktok owes me a freaking credit because I’m so over their horrible, shallow taste in books. I feel better now, I shall take my leave….good day sir.

Oleander for the Win

J Bree did it again. I enjoyed this book when I read it before purchasing the audiobook. The story is well-paced and the characters are unique, well-written and have complexity. This is my first time listing to a audiobook narrated by Kasi Hollowell and she was fantastic.

Holy Why-Choose!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When you guys said this book was fantastic, YOU WEREN'T KIDDING. 👏🏻 I went into this why-choose, fated mates story with guarded expectations. Why-choose with more than 3 partners can really be hit or miss for me, but let me tell you that this one HIT and we haven't even gotten any spice yet!

The magic system of this urban fantasy (?) is truly unique even though I don't really understand it at all right now. 😅 You have no idea what Ollie's powers are the whole book or why she ran from her bonds, only that it was to protect them and they can't know.

There is definitely some bully elements, some s/a references, and violence so check your trigger warnings.

I listened to the first one on audible but immediately downloaded the second onto my kindle to start on later.

I wanted to like it

My tik tok fyp suggested listening to this book so i decided to try it out. The book had everything needed to be great but the MC is whiny and annoying. She has all this power but won’t get out of her own way to use it. I tried book two to see if it got any better and it didn’t. The plot line is really just her complaining about her bonds. Who are by the way the best thing in the book. If she wasn’t so annoying I think I would listen to the third book just for them.

Oh goodness this book is great. Kept me on edge of seat with what will happen next . Nox is a jerk to be put mildly. I hope Oleander puts him in his place.

Sounds like a 15 year old wrote this.

I'm hoping the rest of the series is better. I've read reviews that it gets better. The over use of the words like, freaking, and especially the word Fuck makes the book hard to listen to. It sounds like a 15 year old wrote it just based on that. The story itself is very unique.

The end of the book was good. And I'm hopeful that the good streak will continue through the rest of the series.
