Summary
Kelsey Phillips is over the dating scene.
All that time and energy perfecting your profile and taking just the right picture and articulating exactly what you’re looking for, only to get the same sleazy propositions? No, thanks. She’s doing just fine on her own, so there’s no point in a fruitless hunt for “the one” that doesn’t exist.
Besides, she already has the perfect man in her life. Theo is the type of friend who’s always there for a laugh, a hug, or a drink - and no propositions.
So when he somehow manages to agree to be a groomsman in his ex-fiancée’s wedding to his cousin, the least Kelsey can do is be his date.
But why stop at doing the least?
Pretending to be in a relationship is easy. They already know everything about each other. And it sure isn’t hard to fake attraction to a guy as gorgeous as Theo. Soon enough, the only pretense left is that they haven’t fallen for each other for real...and the very small matter of the secret Kelsey’s been keeping. Can a fake relationship survive this real revelation?

Sexy narration
I loved the narrators, both were new to me. I think I could listen to Stephen Dexter count and find it hot (just listen to how he says the chapter numbers... that deep growling rumble...)
Anyway, my one issue with the story is that I felt that Kelsey changed depending on the POV. The sex scenes were hot, but almost awkward in the fact that I didn’t feel like he was talking about the same woman who just spoke the chapter before. It is difficult to explain, but I would welcome your thoughts after you listen! I still recommend this story!!! I’m looking forward to reading more from Monica Murphy!

I’m glad this was free
The story itself was subpar (being polite) and the heroine got on my last nerve. If I had to hear her talk about how beautiful she was one more time, I would combust. Good narration. DNF and moving on.

I just couldn’t finish this book
I tried so hard to like this book. It is the first book I have not finished in Audible. The narrators were so bad that listening to them, especially during the sex scenes actually grossed me out. The male character would have been ok with a different narrator. However, the female character is very annoying. I just couldn’t finish this book. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this book. Storyline drags, weak and annoying female character and the narrations were awful.

Like Nails on a Chalkboard...
Imagine sitting at a table of BECKYS squealing and saying, "OMG" incessantly.
Welp, that sums up this type of storytelling.
Soooooo boring and not worth the free listen.

Not what expected
The story was so plain, and the narrator sounded so childish. I thought I was listening to a teen book instead of an adult book.
The voice acting wasn't even good! People don't talk like that these days, esp older women. Sometimes I felt I was listening to valley girls talk! Very disappointed!

Enjoyed it
This was a good friends-to-lovers romance with humor and heat sprinkled throughout. It wasn’t “great”, but definitely deserves a solid “good.” I loved Theo from the very beginning and was pulling for him to find happiness. The narrators were pretty good, but I wasn’t all in for Mr. Dexter’s voicing of Theo. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was specifically that bothered me about his voice. The pace and inflection were good, and his narration was good enough to make me totally fall for Theo. He just seemed a little…breathy at times. Almost like a whisper. Wasn’t enough to turn me off, though. This was a new-to-me author and I enjoyed this book enough that I’m going to look for more from her.
