Summary
The Genevians are at war with Nietzschea...and they’re losing.
In a last-ditch hope, the Genevian mech program was founded. Its goal to augment humans into cyborg fighting machines; mechanized warriors sent to hold the front lines against an enemy that was storming a hundred worlds.
Yet few wished to undergo the brutal process, and so criminals were used, their minds enslaved by control chips and obedience enforced through discipline.
The Genevians spent their mechs against the Nietzscheans with little care, eventually struggling to find enough bodies to convert into fighting machines. Quotas were set in the courts, prosecutors, and judges paid off to ensure that even the most benign offenses would see the perpetrator end up in a mech factory, rights and mind stripped as much as body.
Rika is one such victim.
Forged into a second generation scout mech, she is sent to the front lines where she serves with distinction, crushing countless enemies beneath her clawed feet.
But, despite giving everything she had, Genevia still loses the war, and Rika is abandoned.
Now she slings cargo on Dekar, little more than a human loading machine, struggling to keep ahead of the slow breakdown of her mechanized body.
Until someone makes her an offer she cannot refuse. An offer that will see her rejoin the fight - whether she wants to or not. Rika will have to summon a strength she never knew she had to bring about the victory that she once thought was lost.
Get Rika’s Marauders today and follow the ultimate rags-to-riches story, where one woman rises up and saves not only herself, but her people.
This omnibus volume contains all seven books in the Rika’s Marauders series, as well as two novellas: Rika Mechanized and Rika Crucible.

loved it.... but one big issue
I really enjoyed every minute. but one big issue. half way through. there is a cross over book with another series. that is book 5 in that series. so if you Don't have the money to go through them before carrying on its like you have missed a big part of the story. this fact just takes away from it.
I enjoyed it that much I still gave it 5*

Struggling to finish.
Unfortunately, I'm struggling to find the willpower to continue with this one. I was interested to start with, but after several hours the story is taking what feels like an eternity to get somewhere. I have 32 hours left to go and I will probably chip away at it, instead of long sittings. Also, I can not for the life of me remember what half the weapons are as they're all given needlessly complex names and numbers. I lose concentration at GRN something something dash something. I love Science-Fiction as a genre, but this isn't for me.

To many holes in the story
This is not a stand alone series. For the first 1/4 of the book it seems to hold its own with only small gapes in the universe. However after you meet characters from other book series in the same story arch universe the author assumes you have read all of those books. I ended up abandoning this book just before the half way point because I no longer could follow the broken and half told story

Overbearing Femdom.
Some sci-fi is amazing however, this work goes beyond the pale.... too much testrogen for my taste and unrealistic survival and repair and recovery speed of main characters. More cheesy girl power than than a Disney princess.

Great story, but that can only get you so far.
I keep finding myself uninterested in these book solely based on the reader's performance. She seems bored I'm only 20 hours in, but it's taken me a week to get here because it feels more like she's just saying the words instead of actually reading them, all the male characters have the same voice and all the females only really have slight variations. Though points to the author, this book has the feel of a lot of Ben Bova's space operas, which I'm partial too, and Rika kicks ass.

Hours of Action Packed Excitement
Loved it. Especially love getting a whole series as 1 credit! And better yet, it was a series I probably sense listened to even if I had to buy each one. Lots of cool tech, lots of space AND planetside battles, lots of interesting characters.
Rika's a involuntarily recruited human remade into a ground pounder badass mech, who grows into the leader of a band of mercenaries, freeing AIs & Mechs along the way & eventually her homeworld. Oh, crap, is that a spoiler alert? Story in a nutshell.
(The only thing that never made much sense to me was the devotion to the homeworld that violated her human rights by snatching her off the streets & making her a mech in the first place, but, bah, the the otherwise great story line's too much fun & action to let a little detail like that bother me! Maybe you'll get her explanation. I chalk it up to the vagarcies of being human.)
Great weaving in of the Intrepid's characters with this set. I'd read a couple of the other Aeon 14 books, the Orion War Series, beginning with Destiny Lost. etc. Then when I was looking for next in that series I discovered 3 "collections " - this one, the Sentience Wars, Origins and the one about Tanis's beginnings, The Intrepid Sagas. All three have been thoroughly enjoyed and well worth more than the measly one credit I paid for them.
Now to go back to the Orion Wars & restart with Destiny Lost again & hope by the time I'm caught up with what I already have, MD Cooper will have some collections of the Orion Wars so I don't have to buy each individually but can go on a nice long binge listen all on 1 credit.
If you haven't run into MD Cooper's work before she's got strong female leads with strong supporting males. all the characters are well developed and you'll find yourself investing emotionally in them, while still getting your adrenalin fix of action & mayhem. A perfect mix of all the elements of a good fun sci fi I've come to enjoy. If you're a fan of the Honor Harrington Series or any other series featuring similar female lead space warriors, you'll love MD Cooper's books too.
I'd recommend starting with The Sentence Wars, Origins, even though it was written later, it starts with the story of the beginning of the sentient AIs. Then the Intrepid Saga, (but skip Destiny Lost, the 1st in the Orion Wars Series, which is a bonus inclusion with the Intrepid Sagas, then this one, Rika's Marauders, then go back and listen to Destiny Lost.
As someone who started originally with Destiny Lost first, I think everything will make a lot more sense as outlined above & you'll enjoy the set of series more fully that way.
Thanks for some fun & exciting Sci Fi series MD Cooper & many special thanks for offering affordable Collections! Keep up the great work!

who and what?
not sure if this is part of an expanded universe or what, but sometimes stuff jumps around with no explanation of who or where, like im supposed to know random characters plot motives. first 1/4 of the book with her origin and a little after was intriguing and I kept hoping the story would go back on track and be interesting, nope. this book is a trial to get through at this point for me.

53 Hours I can't get back.
I struggled to get through the first 3 books but the fourth one was slightly better. The time skips left you hanging from one chapter to the next. with unfinished threads that left me confused and tired of trying to follow. This work was very disjointed and lack any real growth of the characters I would not recommend this pack

Overall great book and story only one thing was annoying
This was a really great Cinderella story but with getting body parts chopped off and lots of murder, mayhem and mega tech wars but the way the author kept making up these long ass names for the guns the mechs had was so annoying to hear over and over. Really doesn’t it matter to call it a railgun or GA11-t105qc ? Right? I think simply relatable names are better and not so Bueller Bueller Bueller repetitive. I’m right in the middle of the story and in my imagination and then I have to hear this long ass name of a gun that makes no sense because it’s fictional made up and way too long so it completely interrupts the story. But other than that Rika is pretty bad ass except for that she needs to learn to stop getting her ass caught!

This book of cheese
It started off OK, but got cheesey as it progressed. Additional, there were a lot of wholes and unanswered questions left unfilled.
