Summary
Reidon Ward will become a god.
He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him.
However, his perseverance has not gone unnoticed, and when the most powerful artificial intelligence in human history takes an interest in him, things began to change quickly. Granted a CAD—a Combat Assistance Device—with awful specs but an infinite potential for growth, Reidon finds himself at the bottom of his class at the Galens Institute, one of the top military academies in the Collective. Along with his best friend, Viviana Arada, Reidon will have to start his long climb through the school rankings and on to the combat tournament circuits that have become humanity's greatest source of excitement and entertainment.

A perfect balance of content and imagery.
When I listen to audio books I like to envision what I'm listening to it just so happens to perfectly align with this book's style and image, with perfect balance of content and description makes for an absolute masterpiece, my only issue is the way some lines are spoken (pronounced?) just aren't the way people speak, the best way to describe it, is an exaggeration of emotion and reaction the narrator gives the characters can make for some cringy moments. 9.25/10 got me hoping for an early release of the second installment.

Really enjoyable listen! I love every concept and the blossoming team that will make an awesome core of characters in this series. Bring on part 2!

Manny well spent hours
A quick summarization: Sci-Fi gladiator training school with strong coming of ages elements.
It is a straight forward and not overly compacted story with a very strong focus on the main characters. And the narrating and production is good.
If I have to complain on some things that would be that I wished that they had spent some more energy on the secondary charterers. they are interesting and it would have created a bit more atmosphere. And I do not think the narrators choice of voice suits some of the characters. Please keep in mind that this is some small personal annoyances and that I still really liked this book.

So much fun
Ok I’ll start the 1st 2 minutes I was pretty concerned I had wasted a credit, thought I’d give it a punt though,
After the prologue it was great 30 hours of great listening, I enjoyed the characters and there interaction, there’s some bits that I didn’t like there’s a bit to much repetition of certain phrases, but not enough to spoil it, overall a 👍🏻

Terrible, that the book ended.
This book was a marathon and I loved every part of it. A boy who pushes to be the best relentlessly with cleaver wit. Great fights with the awkward romance of teenage life to top it off. Only thing I disliked heavily is that the bloody thing ended. So much to go I wish I found it later so I could binge a few books at a time. The voice actor does a fantastic job at doing the different voices and accents, which I always feel is a massive part if an audible is even relatively tolerable. I won't say anything about the book as I won't give spoilers but if they can hurry and make the next book that would be great.
