Summary
If you're looking for an effective method to treat anxiety, depression, phobias, and more, then pay attention....
No matter who you are or where you come from, you already have firsthand experience of the maxim “Life is challenging”. The pressures of day-to-day living can lead us down the path of various health complications and, in particular, mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, phobia, and obsessive thoughts.
Such mental illnesses lower the quality of our lives and drain all the fun. To overcome these illnesses, we have pursued various treatments, but mostly, the results are less than appealing.
This audiobook has been put together in order to unveil one of the most successful ways of treating mental illnesses. This treatment - known as cognitive behavioral therapy - has become a hit around the world because it not only fights the symptoms of mental illnesses, but also ensures that the results will last.
The following are some of the critical things explored in the audiobook:
- CBT tools and techniques
- Automatic and intrusive thoughts
- How to get rid of anxiety and depression through CBT
- Setting goals using CBT
- How to change your core beliefs using CBT
- How to overcome procrastination through CBT
- Overcoming anger and bitterness through CBT
- Treating PTSD
- Identifying negative thought patterns
- Building self-esteem

Basic material on treating dysfunctional people. I am not a psychologist, but found it useful in developing sales techniques.

CBT
So far it has been very helpful. I work with adolescents in residential care. They've usually been through several therapists before getting to me and are definitely challenging clients.

What an informative book
Found it as one of the best reference books that guides therapists who are interested in using CBT in their sessions. Very helpful and presents role-play between therapist and patient!

Great Overview
As a therapist I am always looking for good resource books, and this one is great. The work it's self has all the important information about CBT and how to practice CBT. It does get a little infomercial like at first touting how great CBT is at times which feels more like a product sell rather than objective scientific report.

Great Author
I purchased this book for my Cognitive Behavior psychology class. I think the book is excellent as an introduction to CBT. There are clear examples in the book from Judith Beck herself, who happens to be the daughter of Aaron Beck, the father of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
