Summary

They came to Earth - Pestilence, War, Famine, Death - four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to Earth, and they came to end us all.

The day Jerusalem falls, Miriam Elmahdy knows her life is over. Houses are burning, the streets run red with blood, and a traitorous army is massacring every last resident. There is no surviving this, especially not once Miriam catches the eye of War himself. But when the massive and terrifying horseman corners Miriam, he calls her his wife, and instead of killing her, he takes her back to his camp.

Now, Miriam faces a terrifying future, one where she watches her world burn town by town, and the one man responsible for it all is her seemingly indestructible “husband”. But there’s another side to him, one that’s gentle and loving and dead set on winning her over, and she might not be strong enough to resist.

However, if there’s one thing Miriam has learned, it’s that love and war cannot coexist. And so, she must make the ultimate choice: surrender to War and watch humankind fall or sacrifice everything and stop him.

Author is a Zionist.

The anti Palestine narrative to this story is extremely disappointing and quite unsettling given current events.
Very disappointed.

the best one

I’ve listened to all four and Death is not the best, this one is. And to think I almost didn’t buy it.

I enjoyed listening to this but...

I think it would have been better to have a different narrator, even though the narration was very compelling. If Miriam is from the middle east, why does she have an American accent aswell as have an American personality. I didn't learn anything about the culture where she grew up, and any reference to that seemed at odds with the style of writing and how she came across.

Apart from that, I liked it.

I can't stop listening

I already listened to the first book Pestilence. I can't stop listening to these stories. I am addicted. War is enthralling, exciting, sexy and heart stopping suspenseful.

I love it. Susannah Jones really makes the story come alive. She is so good!!!

Wow

I love this book.
I just got one question for book 1.
Did Sara and Victor have a boy or a girl?

Ok back to this story.
Characters: good, like how they grow.
Story: wonderful. I was so invested that I couldn’t put it away.
I can’t wait for the 3rd brother and his story.

Amazing!

Even better than the first book! I spent the last few chapters just balling my eyes out, I couldn’t see how he could change as he seemed so set in his ways right the way through, I didn’t see how this book could end either but it all came together so amazingly well and just killed me emotionally at the end! It ended so well, I love how it all was wrapped up, I’m not sure how the next book can go in a good direction or the last one either from his character so far but I’m excited to find out!

a brilliant second book to the series

I have read this book before and in preparation for the last part coming shortly I revisited.
Loved the story and the characters. I will be gutted when the series ends.
