Summary
Of all the people in the world, why her?
It was supposed to be easy: find the drug maker. Find her, and drag her back to the dragons to deal with. She deserves death for what she's done.
For someone like Weston, the best alpha in the world, the one who shuts people up just by walking in the room, it would've been.
Until he learns what she is
Finding a fated mate is nearly impossible. Very few are able to do it. But the call of their bond is unmistakable. Against all odds, and in the worst situation imaginable, he's found his true mate. Her.
Worse? If there could be anything worse than a true mate that has brought the world to its knees—she doesn't seem to realize what she is. Her animal is suppressed. Locked away, leaving her nearly without magic. She doesn't know what the feeling is, and she doesn't care. She claims innocence. She thinks he's the villain in this story, and she aims to kill him before he destroys her.
It doesn't change his duty. He must bring her in, nature be damned. Regardless of how much it hurts, he'll resist the sweet taste of her lips and the heaven between her thighs. She must pay for what she's done.
He just hopes he doesn't die inside for the part he's forced to play in the destruction of his true mate.

This is a dark and very spicy Red Riding Hood retelling in the Ruin World featuring an anti-hero, a strong heroine, and a humorous supporting cast. It is not necessary to have listened to the Ruin series to enjoy this installment. Check the website for TWs. This is an enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity story suitable for 18+. It's the first of a dualogy, ending on a cliffhanger.

twisty fairy tales
I loved this next installment/branch-off of K.F. Breene's deliciously dark fairy tales series. It has us catching up with favourite characters and meeting great new ones, with all the authors usually spicy, sometimes sarcastic, snarky, dirty humour. I feel like these books are laced with granules product.... I totally hooked! And the audible narrators do a brilliant job of portraying the characters. thank you, what a great escape this audible book has been.

Lots of Story, Steam, and Surprises.📖 🫠🔥😲
A Cage of Crimson: Deliously Dark Fairytales, Book 5
By: K.F. Breene
🎧 Audiobook Narrated by: Tillie Hooper and Tyler Donne
Length: 15 hrs and 33 mins
📖 Ebook
I loved this female narrator in books 1-4. Unfortunately, I found her voice a little immature sounding compared to her age in this audiobook.😕 My biggest bugbear, and the main reason I dropped a star, was because of the male narrator. He did quite well as Hadriel, in my opinion, but as Weston, he fell far too short for me. 🥺 He just wasn't convincing as a macho alpha of alpha's. The other characters are done beautifully.👏
Aurielia is a similar character to Finley, except she's extremely naive and has been used since she was about 12/3 years old. What was assumed by her to be love and care was, in fact, pure manipulation. It's quite sad reading as she comes to realise her huge error!😢
Weston is determined to loathe the 'maker' of these addictive and deadly 'medications'. He's mortified to discover that his fated mate is the mastermind of the recipes!🤯 He can't stop wanting her, and neither can his wolf.🐺 He knows she doesn't understand their pull, as she thinks she doesn't have any magic, let alone her own animal, yet, he still chooses to keep her in the dark for much of the story.😠
This couple eventually became perfection.😍 Sadly, It all goes up in flames once they're at the last stop. He changes. You can feel his coolness!❄️ Then the boat was like wthI don't believe shes got short term memory loss?🤷🏻♀️🙈
Lovely writing. I had my knotting queries answered.🤣
Another resounding success by this author.⭐️

Fantastic work kfb!
A hot and steamy version of Little Red Riding hood. Oh the big bad alpha is dreamy and full of darkness. A lot of bang for your buck here and fantastic story without it being predictable. The narrators bring these wonders to life.

A Cage of Crimson
K. F. Breene does it again, this story took me right back to the series, even though it has been done time. Although only really one of the characters, Aidrial, was in the first three books, he is such a fun, crazy wolf that brings in the laughs. Read brilliantly again by Hollie Hooper and Tyler Donne who bring the book alive.

Mixed Feelings
There were parts I absolutely loved and parts I sadly didn't enjoy particularly the end (*semi spoiler)...
...which seemed to undo all the growth the FMC had done throughout the book.*
Great spice and Hadriel is back 👌🏾
