Summary

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Fantastic

I've heard ACOTAR and the original audible for fourth wing and enjoyed the casting aside from Tairn.

The lack of grit in his voice makes for a poor casting for a 100 year old grumpy dragon, it sounds almost like Xaden which is jarring and pulls you out of the story every time you hear it.

Luckily it's only one feature that's off albeit a shame, the rest is fantastic.

I wish we didn't have to wait this long for the next part

After me obsessing with acotar, this came in time. some pronunciations are annoying me tbh. but overall a really goodjob. I really like the lead Violet sound and how she made violet sound. I wish we didn't have to wait this long for the second part of the book like okay part them as much as you want but release them at the same time please. I do really enjoy graphic audio well done.

Loved to feel a part of Basgiath

I loved Fourth Wing and the graphic audio has done it justice. Violet sounds as sassy as I imagined and Tairn is the perfect grumpy ancient dragon. I got very grossed out by the bone snapping sounds, so five stars for visceral effectiveness!

The only slight niggle is that some characters pronounce Tairn’s name differently, which I assume is down to parts being read separately, but does sound weird when they’re talking to each other in the same scene. No point deducted for that though, as it’s super minor and purely a production/direction issue.

Excellent recording and quality

This definitely helped fill the void after finishing Iron Flame. Overall the cast is good though I wish they’d gone with a voice actor with more gravitas for Tairn.

Good but could of been excellent with better casting and production choices.

I really loved Fourth Wing when I read the book . Listening to this was good but they made some very odd casting and recording choices. I like Violet/Khaya Fraites but man, some of her pronunciations are all over the place. It really messed with my head (su-wen for sewn, doonting for daunting) and many more. There is a sibilant shhhh on all sss's which drove me flipping nuts on
Xaden/Gabriel Micheal words. He did an absolutely fab job as Lucien in the ACOTAR GA series so I know this is not normal.
Tairns vocal actor is completely wrong casting and sounds way to 'light' to be a 100 year old grumpy curmudgeon of a dragon. It's a shame as this could of been excellent.
