Summary

My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods...or monsters. I still can't decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there's Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn't felt anything for a hundred years. But there's something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what's broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I'm wondering if I was brought here intentionally - as the bait.

Enjoyable read but very similar to Twilight

I want to give 5 stars but it's so similar to Twilight, Stephanie Meyer could sue for copyright infringement. The irony that it mentions Twilight was not lost on me.

Narrators have done a great job.

Twilight, no crave, no Twilight... really can’t tell the difference...

If you’ve read Twilight, then you’ll find a lot in common with this book, not kidding it actually references it! I found myself rolling my eyes a lot at it. I was left with more questions and plot holes than I’d care to count. I just wish it had a little more substance as there we’re a few times I thought, okay, that’s interesting but then something else happened and it didn’t explain or have any follow through...Interesting concept on vampires but didn’t really go into the how, what & why... dragons? Really? no world building at all. No character building. A very easy read. Don’t think I will pick up book number two, I think I already know what’s going to happen.

ashame I couldn't give it 5 stars

I loved the book and the characters but I felt like I finished this book with to many unanswered questions. I dont want to wreck the book for anyone so I wont explain this in detail.

looking forward to the second book.

Annoying AF!

Absolutely a YA book, for someone who enjoys the thought of controlling possessive teenage boys. Honestly DNF'd a few times, but dragged through it as I've seen enthusiastic reviews. The narrator had an irritating voice, and the main storyline is just unfeasable. Really didn't enjoy it!

Was ok

Sadly i had guessed the plot of this book pretty early on but stayed on until chapter 62 ish. Story not very gripping. Characters were ok but a bit bland to read. Glad I had the opportunity to read this atleast. Each to their own, just not my cup of tea unfortunately.

Sexy AF what does that even mean 😂

The writing is good but the narrator makes this unlistenable. And the repeated sexy AF mentions of the main character so many times. It made me cringe. 5 hours in and I just can’t continue. I wonder why this narrator was chosen to voice this book. Considering just buying the kindle version and reading that instead hopefully the sexy Af thing is an abbreviation made by the narrator and it’s not in the written version.

This book is set over the course of a week

A WEEK.
A single week.
They go from ‘i didn’t know you existed’ to ‘I’m gonna go ahead and die for you’ after knowing each other for… a week

Could not take it seriously at all.
Two stars is generous
