Summary

Perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses and Uprooted, this stand-alone, fantasy romance about a human girl and her marriage to the Elf King is impossible to put down!

The elves come for two things: war and wives. In both cases, they come for death.

Three-thousand years ago, humans were hunted by powerful races with wild magic until the treaty was formed. Now, for centuries, the elves have taken a young woman from Luella's village to be their Human Queen.

To be chosen is seen as a mark of death by the townsfolk. A mark nineteen-year-old Luella is grateful to have escaped as a girl. Instead, she's dedicated her life to studying herbology and becoming the town's only healer.

That is, until the Elf King unexpectedly arrives... for her.

Everything Luella had thought she'd known about her life, and herself, was a lie. Taken to a land filled with wild magic, Luella is forced to be the new queen to a cold yet blisteringly handsome Elf King. Once there, she learns about a dying world that only she can save.

The magical land of Midscape pulls on one corner of her heart, her home and people tug on another... but what will truly break her is a passion she never wanted.

A Deal with the Elf King is a complete, *stand-alone* dramatized audiobook, inspired by the tales of Hades and Persephone, as well as Beauty and the Beast, with a "happily ever after" ending. It's perfect for fantasy romance fans looking for just the right amount of steam and their next slow-burn and swoon-worthy couple.

Performed by Kelly Baskin, Rayner Gabriel, Elena Anderson, Robb Moreira, Gabriel Michael, Ryan Haugen, Debi Tinsley, Yasmin Tuazon, James Konicek, Matthew Bassett, Scott McCormick, Nanette Savard, Karen Novack, Samantha Cooper, Alysia Beltran, Holly Adams, Elias Khalil, Ken Jackson, David Zitney, Eric Messner, David Cui Cui, Drew Kopas, Lise Bruneau, Richard Rohan, Patrick Boylan, and Alejandro Ruiz."

This book wants to be acotar so bad

Anyone can write an okay book based off of someone else’s idea. It’s basically a fan fiction of acotar but readable in a day. The whole way through it just felt so plagiarised, to the point this author even uses some phrases, and events found in acotar which was published 5 years previous. Honestly I would just read acotar and the other series written by Sarah j Maas and not this Aldi version. The performance also felt very wooden between dialogue but that’s just a personal opinion and may have been influenced by my disappointment at the actual book.

Magical~

The performance from this cast is really amazing. I truly felt swept away in the story and couldn't stop wanting to listen. The world building was deep and had you wanting for more. I love the connections between characters and the voice actors really brought out their personalities well. I hope more of Kova's books are turned into dramatized adaptations, it gives her world that extra immersion that is addicting. Wonderful job from the voice team and an amazing story from the author.

Best Version Yet!

I have pretty much all the copies of A Deal With The Elf King, hardback, kindle, audible, and now graphic audio. I loved listening to this version, honestly Eldas was spot on to my imagination. For anyone who lives this book I would definitely recommend the audio.

good performance

well written but I struggled to see the chemistry between the leads and the characters were a bit dry. also not much actually happened which wouldn't be a problem if I like the characters more

Not an acotar comparison at all!

This book was recommended from a recording of acotar and it’s mentioned it’s for readers who liked it, but aside from its stupidly similar plot line it’s not even a close comparison.

It isn’t a bad book in its own right. But if you’re an acotar fan looking for something similar, prepare to be disappointed.

Enchanting

Don't hesitate to grab this audio book.
The performances are outstanding. They really brought the characters to life! And the additional use of sound made Hook the wolf so real. The actors do a great job, and as a big fan of the book I was incredibly happy to hear these beloved characters obtain perfect voices.

It feels like a movie in your head.
Makes chores feel easy too. Time just flies by.

I look forward to more! <3

Surprising

I did not think I would like the background noises and music, but it was oddly great! It actually made it feel a bit like a movie or tv show. The story, of course, was great.
