Summary
Darkness spreads across the globe....
After explosive solar flares strike Earth, half the planet goes dark. Store shelves gather dust, pharmacies run out of life-saving medications, and banks and gas stations close their doors.
As tens of millions of people grapple with a new reality without power, a serial killer hunts freely in the chaos. Alger County Undersheriff Jackson Cross is determined to stop him, no matter the cost. Torn between vengeance and a chance at redemption, ex-convict Eli Pope faces his greatest test, while Lena and Shiloh Easton struggle to survive in a world that grows deadlier by the day. But nothing can prepare them for what comes next….
Set in the rural wilderness of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, The Dark We Seek is the riveting second installment in the apocalyptic survival series by USA best-selling author Kyla Stone.

Superb second book in the series
And this series has rapidly become one of my favorite post apocalyptic stories. Mixing a murder mystery/hunt for a serial killer atop the backdrop of a collapsing society is fantastic.
I also felt like it was realistic, because the characters live in a rural area near a small town, so their society holds together a bit longer than the urban areas. Well worth a listen.

great author.
great author and good books. the author does make some extremely aggravating characters. This series is good but has way too much in common with her edge of collapse series. even some of the characters are very very similar. jackson and noah seem to be almost the same guy. i have just started this book so i dont know how jackson will be in the end, but he is a pansy just like noah was. these books would be top notch of it wasnt for the annoying characters. they are definitely worth listening to or reading.
