Summary
A surprise attack. A grid down. A fight for survival.
John Beck wants to be a good man, a great father, and a supportive husband. Though his inner demons have put those goals far out of reach. Could the end of the world be the beginning a second chance for Beck? When a surprise EMP attack on the United States sends the nation into a tailspin, Beck goes into action. He works to be the man he always wanted to be and in the process becomes a legend.
Book 1: Best Laid Plans
John Beck is the hero we don't deserve but he's exactly who we need when the world falls apart.
When a surprise EMP attack kills the power grid across most of the United States, the nation crumbles but a hero rises. John Beck makes it his mission to help the weak against the strong in a new, lawless wilderness. All the while, he fights the demons of his past as he searches for the only family he has left.
Book 2: No Good Deed
Apocalyptic survivor John Beck has beaten the wolves who prey on the sheep. But can he defeat his own demons on his path to redemption?
John Beck is on a mission to find his daughter. After learning she has left him handwritten letters as clues, he and new friends embark on what could be the end of his quixotic odyssey to reunite with his daughter. But before he finds her, dangerous obstacles stand in his way and they could as quickly kill him as lead to his salvation.
Book 3: One in the Hand
John Beck is a man possessed. But can he right the wrongs without succumbing to his own demons?
After barely surviving his wounds, the legendary John Beck is at the mercy of others. Will he listen to their counsel or will he defy their wishes and again set out on a fool's errand? It's a mission that could just as easily undo the good he's done as it might redeem him once and for all in an unforgiving world where the real power lies with those who take it from those not strong enough to hold on.
One in the Hand is book three in The Crusader EMP Post-Apocalyptic Series and is perfect for fans of Kyla Stone, Franklin Horton, AR Shaw, Ryan Schow, and Jack Hunt.

Don't mess with Beck
Good set of books, as John Beck, after an EMP sends the US to its knees, looks for his daughter. Beck is an interesting character along with his travelling companions.
Well narrated by Kevin Pierce.

An action packed series of books with humour, romance and all the elements that make this author great
I’ve listened to many books by this author and have been very impressed with the ingredients to make such great stories. I especially enjoyed the Marcus Battle plug in book two. For those who enjoy a great mixture of the apocalyptic stories with a great mix of humour, romance and sheer grit, this would be well worth a listen. The narration as usual was perfect, a standard that Kevin Peiece effortlessly achieves. 5 stars all the way. The big question now is: what’s next?

like most of Abraham's books
its well written. Pierce is perfect as always. but also just like all of his books, it's only a matter of time before self defense is considered murder and never corrected. young teenage girls have more snark and ability than all the men, proving them wrong and bossing them around. I just once wish in one of these books when someone calls the main character a murderer that they are corrected and self defense is justified.
after finishing the second book I'm so disappointed. the thing everyone has been waiting for is resolved, and it's so underwhelming because the need to make it "a woman's world" had to stand up front. This book has become the opposite of realistic, possible, and the pendulum swung right past equal to feminist BS. I'm sorry, in a real grid down situation women aren't going to rule the world. there are millions of reasons that had never been the case in all of human history.

A story that have it all
Tom Abraham wove a story of loyalty and love into an apocalyptic adventure. He managed to throw in a reference to Marcus Battle.
A must read, get the entire series you will not regret it

A great value boxset for a great series!
The Crusader Series by Tom Abrahams is an excellent value with 3 books in total. If you've liked anything written by Tom, or if you haven't started yet, I'd suggest picking this up! Audio Version: Kevin Pierce does a great job with the series.

Am I right?
Yet another great story, written by Tom Abrams, and narrated by Kevin Pierce! Can’t wait to listen to another one, maybe a sequel on the trip to Canada

Instantly compelling and identifiable.
John Beck is everything we hope we could be if we had to be but wouldn’t want to be.
Tom Abrahams is a master craftsman when working with the written word. Nobody develops the deep smolder of the troubled hero quite like Abrahams.

An Intense Journey!
I enjoyed the first three books in this post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller. The characters are engaging; the story is both thrilling and fear inducing. There is plenty if action, adventure, intrigue, horror and humor. This series made me wonder what would happen to our society if we were struck with an EMP. Who who survive? I look forward to the next book in this series! The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.

Started good and gradually became bad.
The first book in the story Ark was good . The second book gradually made the main character become unintelligent while reading the dictionary everyday, its as if he lost the ability to use all his experiences in the last 4 years of his life and became a walking idiot. The 3rd book is unrecognizable and I would almost say that someone else was the author of it. It was so bad that I had to quit listening and download something else to get away from the idiocy. That has never happened in my listening experience before. 👎

THE WORST Tom Abraham’s book EVER!
I have listened to all of his books but this one, ugh. Every chapter has basically the same situations with the same murder. John Beck has serious mental and emotional problems.
I’m returning it.

Excellent narration good story
Good characters. Well written. A bit predictable. I will purchase the rest in the series. I do recommend.
