Summary

When Lisa Jones and her boyfriend, George, take on the run-down Rocks Hotel, they aim to do for Mariscombe what Rick Stein did for Padstow and set up a chic maritime retreat. But renovating a hotel is about more than stripped wooden floors and Egyptian cotton sheets, particularly when the locals are shifty and unhelpful. Especially Bruno Thorne, the tall, dark, and surly owner of the nearby Mariscombe Hotel, where life is one long holiday - for the staff, anyway. Amid the sandcastles and surf, passions run high as ghosts of the past come out of the freshly painted woodwork. A little midsummer madness leaves Mariscombe's inhabitants floating on a tide of infatuation.....Sending some of them rather too close to the rocks.

A lovely feel good story.

A very enjoyable story. Lots of twists & turns, but having said that I did guess them & guessed the outcome very early on, but nevertheless I did enjoy it & I loved the characters & particularly liked the way the author described the places, I could close my eyes & imagine myself being there.
It’s a lovely summer read.

Fantastic

Like a book, I could not put my Ipod down as I just wanted to listen to the next chapter. Very well narrated.It was my first time listening to this author.I have since purchased two more from the same author.

Light funny, poignant and oozing with flavours that bring you into the book ..

Wonderful listen and read beautifully

I simply love this story and Jilly Bond is an excellent reader, with lots of different "voices". The story is unusual and amusing and the writer creates beautiful pictures in the head, her descriptions are so good. I wonder what other books she has written.
