Summary
Since the moment I was ripped from my mother's womb, I've been an outcast among my own kind. The Sidhe might possess magical Gifts, unbelievable wealth, and unfathomable power, but I don't want a thing to do with them. I ran away from their lands in the Highlands of Scotland when I was 11 years old, and I've never looked back. I don't need a clan. I've got my own family of highly skilled thieves who mean more to me than any Sidhe ever could.
Unfortunately for me, the playboy heir to the Moncrieffe Clan has something I desperately need. To get it back, I'm going to have to plunge myself back into that world, no matter what the consequences may be. I suppose it's just as well I have a sense of humor. I think I'm going to need it.

Unusual and captivating.
I did love this book. it took a little while to get into as I was getting to know the characters but once I did, it moved fast and was quite an adrenaline rush! all I would say is the reading was a little bland. I found that sentences which should have been accentuated by the narrator were at times falling a little flat. That said, it was an original storyline and I'm definitely intrigued enough to purchase the sequel!

Gifted Thief
This book takes a bit of getting your head round, as it is set in today's Scotland. Once you accept this reality it is easy to follow with lovely rounded characters. read with great feeling by Saskia Maarleveld.

Good easy listening
I have read all four in this series. I would say good easy listening nothing exceptional but worth the money paid.
I enjoyed the byplay between the two main characters Integrity and Byron (love the name Integrity, by the way) and the father daughter relationship with Taylor. I so understanding that Bryon can not/will not see the truth.
Enough action to keep the books from being slow and enough emotion to keep the story real without reveling in anks.
I like stories that end correctly and this one did by book four.
I will check out other Helen Harper books.

Gripping and entertaining
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
A story that draws you in and keeps you interested.
What did you like best about this story?
The whole setup is an interesting one, including how society is organised works (or doesn't) for the different levels.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I was certainly keen to get back to it.

This should listed in YA or Teens.
Wow this story was lame and poorly written. It was confusing and all over the place. I don't even know how to review this book. I am embarrassed I even finished it. I thought it was going to get better and make sense. It didn't. What a waste of time.
Also, this book should be in the YA or 11-13 teens section Paranormal. Not Romance Contemporary.
As for the narration, I like Saskia Maarleveld. She does a good job.

Good Read
Where does Gifted Thief rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top 10
Any additional comments?
Despite some negative commits I found this to be a well balanced book. It contained action, romance and a creative plot. I liked that the book had a good portion of all 3, Which is hard to find. Usually this genre is dominated by sex or no sex and all action. It also felt that it would be a good read if you were 16 or 60. In addition, the narrator did a great job for having a British accent. In some cases the accent can be to harsh and distracting but hers wasn't.

Doesn’t have the ending
I hate when they give you the book and it was written to make you buy the next book to hear the ending

Very much a YA
I don't know why I bought this book..it must have been a Daily Deal or 'Two Fer' .. in any case, it's going back.
I read YA at times but this didn't hold my attention at all. I won't even save it for my grand daughter, who often takes my YA picks after I'm done.
MY opinion? Save your credit and read the reviews.

narrator ruined it
Was it a good book? yes. Was plot good?.. not too bad. It kept me interested and would definitely read book 2. "READ book 2". I don't think I would listen to the narrators strong accent again. I did not come across this in any of Helen Harper's other book. Saskia did a great job on them. But I had to concentrate real hard on understanding certain sentences on this one. Which is not relaxing at all. Please just read it how you normally would Saskia.
Also the corny jokes... works for my 10 year old.

Fun like a candy bar, and about as nutritious!
If you are looking for a fun quick read, get this book. the narration was well done (lots of great voices), and the plot moves rather quickly. The story is a bit if a romp. Lots of flirty moments, and a heroine a unique sense of humor. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon read, you don't have to work too hard. Lovable characters. This is the beginning to a fun series. The ending is definitely a cliffhanger.

Harper ended it with the language.
After about five chapters, I finally had had enough of the foul language, and flippant raunchy sexual innuendos.
Too bad I really felt Harper had something going with a fresh take on the magic scene; however, the raunchy lines and language left me with a main character owning little to no value system, and a low sense of self.... But...she is supposed to be a highly skilled master theif... Doesn't match in my head. Tone it down Harper, and give this girl some class.

Fun, Flirty Book but I Wanted a Little More
So, from the cover and blurb, I thought this was YA. It's definitely not, which was fine with me but a bit of a surprise. Anyhow, I loved Helen Harper's other series, first book: Bloodfire, and this one was very similar. The magical system was very original in this book, a court of fae like people ruling the modern world. I would have liked a little more world building, I was confused on a couple points, like was the lands they kept crossing into a separate dimension or just kept separate by magic. Also, I felt there could be a little more descriptive narrative. I enjoyed the main characters and definitely felt some tension between the MC and Byron. I would have liked more, more relationship development, character development etc. I just picked up book two and I'm hoping to find that 'more' in there.

Enjoyable
Me next book in the series is not part of the romance package therefore I won’t be spending a credit for it. The boom was enjoyable though.
