Welcome to The Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore and Bar. I'm Sam Quinn, the werewolf book nerd in charge. I run my business by one simple rule: Everyone needs a good book and a stiff drink, be they vampire, wicche, demon, or fae. No wolves, though. Ever.
I serve the supernatural community of San Francisco. We've been having some problems lately. Okay, I'm the one with the problems. The broken body of a female werewolf washed up on my doorstep. What makes sweat pool at the base of my spine, though, is realizing the scars she bears are identical to the ones I conceal. After hiding for years, I've been found.
A protection I've been relying on is gone. While my wolf traits are strengthening steadily, the loss also left my mind vulnerable to attack. Someone is ensnaring me in horrifying visions intended to kill. Clive, the sexy vampire Master of the City, has figured out how to pull me out, designating himself my personal bodyguard. He's grumpy about it, but that kiss is telling a different story. A change is taking place. It has to.
I'm a survivor. I'll fight fang and claw to protect myself and the ones I love. And let's face it - they have it coming.

Easy listening
I like the narration and the plot, had some good characters that with promise for future story lines. I’d recommend this to young adults with an appreciation of super natural fiction.

fantastic freebie!
I loved this book. I often give up on free books (free for a reason) but this grasped me from the get go. An adult fiction book for a change with mature themes rather than the saturated market of teenage fantasy. It only lost a star because of the "English accent", being a UK listener I had to try and ignore it haha

Awesome
Loved the characters. Loved the twisty story line. The violence + gore wasn’t overtly gratuitous, just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. The love interests were just lovely, a touch of sweet in amongst the death.
Loved it, just about to start the second one.

Great!!! Loved it!!
It made me smile. I found myself with my head nodding and my eyes rolling. If a book can engage me so much I’d say it’s a winner.

An interesting and intriguing story but not overly heavy
I have read the entire series and was left wanting more. I am now re listening to the entire series again and this time I am finding elements that I missed the first time around. The author has some interesting understanding of real trauma and the aftermath and that really spoke to me and a great message about consent. The male and female characters are all strong in their own way and it’s refreshing. I never thought that this type of genre would really speak to me on such a visceral level. Thoroughly enjoyed every line.

Lovely set of books
Fab find! i have loved this set of books, i like the narration as much as the stories in the 5 books, i hope theres going to be stories about Sam and her friends

Enjoyable
