Summary

On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast.

But Dina is...different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight. Under the circumstances, ""normal"" is a bit of a stretch for Dina. And now, something with wicked claws and deepwater teeth has begun to hunt at night....

Feeling responsible for her neighbors, Dina decides to get involved. Before long, she has to juggle dealing with the annoyingly attractive, ex-military, new neighbor, Sean Evans—an alpha-strain werewolf—and the equally arresting cosmic vampire soldier, Arland, while trying to keep her inn and its guests safe. But the enemy she’s facing is unlike anything she’s ever encountered before. It’s smart, vicious, and lethal, and putting herself between this creature and her neighbors might just cost her everything.

Innkeeper Chronicles Clean Sweep

So the story begins a sentient Inn with its other worldly guests . A werewolf and a vampire who gets drunk on coffee . Our three heroes battle carnivorous beasts sent by the off- world to create havoc in Texas . On top of that a nosy police officer seems to have an inkling.I loved this story and all the characters, it is beautifully dramatised and exciting . I already need to read another one . Terrie!

Brilliant. Thank you

Great story with a great cast. Really brought the story to life.
Renée Rodman's narration was really good in the original version but this new version really works well with additional narrators.

Fab GraphicAudio production

This was my first graphicaudio purchase and I was really impressed with the care they took with the story. Ilona Andrews books contain a detailed & rich world building within them and this production ensured the pronunciation of the names was accurate and that the tone of the story was faithful to the authors original source. I loved it and will be buying the rest in the series

Captivating and extremely immersive

Clean Sweep is the first book in the Innkeeper Chronicles series of fantasy mysteries by the New York Times Bestselling husband-and-wife writing team publishing their works under the Ilona Andrews pseudonym.

The story in Clean Sweep follows Dina Demille, a young woman, as she runs a relatively successful Victorian Bed and Breakfast establishment in an out-of-the-way and secluded small Texas town.

But she is much more than the eye can see. Her lodgings are perfectly suited for visitors from far away and some of them have all sorts of fantastic powers or abilities. Alas, her life and those of the clueless neighbors will be deeply affected by a series of gruesome murders and as a result of that, readers and listeners alike will be pulled into a captivating adventure filled with unthinkable danger, weird creatures, a little romance, and powerful magic.

The writing is fast, good, and vivid. The characters are memorable and the plot will keep you interested ’till the end of this exciting tale.

This is not your regular audiobook, this is a completely immersive listening experience expertly dramatized and adapted by the talented people at GraphicAudio. It features a full cast paired with a beautiful narration, it’s richly scored with cinematic music and underneath it all, you’ll find a complete soundscape of high-quality audio effects.

The narration is compelling, the voice acting is top-notch, and the music and all the natural sound effects make this dramatized adaptation feel like a movie in your mind, just like it was advertised.

I was pleasantly impressed by the writing, by the lively and colorful characters, by the enjoyable story and of course, by the high-quality audio production and I will gladly return to this series in the future.

If you love True Blood or The Dresden Files, you will most likely enjoy Clean Sweep a lot!

Wonderful story but not the dramatic version

I have listened to the original audio book and enjoyed it very much and was intrigued into listening to the dramatized version. Well I didn't listen to the whole thing just about half,I found it painful to listen to compared to the first audio book and have deleted off my device and and didn't enjoy the music, sounds or the reading of the book. Highly recommend not listening to the dramatized version but the normal one. Ilona Andrews is a wonderful author and I look forward to all the books she may write.

Great story bad audio buy original version instead

I love everything that Ilona Andrews writes and an a big fan. The story is great with well developed characters and world building. I already own this title in both kindle and audible versions and was very happy with it. Renee Raudman did a great job on the original version. It is a book I have listened to repeatedly. As much as I liked the original I was still interested in getting this version and was looking forward to hearing it performed by a full cast (as well as supporting the authors). I listened to the sample to make sure it was worth buying another version of a book I already own instead of a new book. I could immediately tell that I preferred the original version. did notice that the male narrator voicing Sean emphasized certain words in a sentence that made it a bit discordant, I still felt that a full cast version could be a great listen. Unfortunately I was unable to finish it. There were too many sound effects which ended up detracting from the story. That was bad enough but what took it into intolerable for me were the sounds of chewing and drinking that just made me cringe. I highly recommend the book. It is a great beginning to a wonderful series but if you want an audio version make sure to purchase the original version with Renee Raudman as the narrator.

Absolutely LOVE it!!!

The original audiobook was great but this version is SO much better. It reminds me of 1930's radio shows in the best way possible. I can't wait for the rest of the series to come out in this version.

Well done & fun!

This is one of my favorite books, from a favorite author. It is a story set in the current “real” world, with the addition of magic hidden from the majority of Earth’s citizens. There is a mystery to be solved, and enjoyable characters to get to know. I especially love the dog, Beast. She is what all Shih Tzu dogs think they are - a fierce monstrous being disguised as a tiny dog.
I enjoy sound effects to go along with the narration of a book. If you don’t enjoy that, listen to the original audiobook instead of this one. Renee Raudman did a marvelous job on her own. The only thing that would have made the dramatization better would be having Renee R as Dina. I am used to her voice. However, the ensemble that was brought together for this performance did an excellent job.
Maybe one day, producers/directors will understand that keeping name pronunciation consistent in a book series is extremely important to listeners, but I can’t fault the performers for pronouncing names differently from the original narration.
Meanwhile, this was fun! Looking forward to more.

Loved it!

This was so good. The story, the narrators, the sound effects, all of it. I was worried that the dramatic version would be like going to the movie after reading the book and being left disappointed. In those situations I am disappointed because movies tend to leave out important parts and / or change the story, this was not what this version did. For me it gave another way to experience a book I already loved. I hope Ilona Andrews do this with more of their books.

GAH!!! I wish every book was performed like this!!

As someone who owns every Ilona Andrews book in print and digital but LOATHES Rene Raudman’s narration, this is the version I’ve been waiting for! It was so immersive and the voice actors did such an amazing job! The tone and inflection of everyone, the sounds, the music. I’m going to buy every book in this format, no others will satisfy this new standard.

It was good!

I did enjoy this version. Some of pronunciation were off and some of the dramatized sounds where a little corny (the kissing scene, the first fight scene with the Dina and the stalker in the neighbor’s yard) and the background stuff was too low - neighbor calling her dog Misha. Those things did irk a smidge given how much I love this series, but I can live with it although the corny stuff made me laugh out loud which I do not think was the intent - I mean I did laugh during the kissing scene. But since I love the original, I was willing to give it a pass. As I am writing it, I am still laughing about the kissing scene - what would have push me over the edge is if they did get the license for Marvin Gaye's Let's get it on! (lol). If my pointing it out spoils, it for you. Sorry but I do believe it is a worthwhile endeavor to listen.
