Summary
Charley is a cleaner by day and a professional gambler by night. She might be haunted by her tragic past but she's never thought of herself as anything or anyone special. If you're from Manchester it'll annoy you
It's obviously written by someone who's never even been to Manchester let alone lived there. If you're from there it'll annoy the crap out of you because it's weirdly vague about where things happen and uses subtly wrong terms to describe places.
That said, it's a pretty good story pretty well done and the narration is great.

Not one of authors best
Such a shame as usually like this author. I nearly DNF twice. Just couldn't get into the characters and didn't laugh at any of it or find any romance intriguing....just a bit meh really.

Promise
This story has a solid start but no bite. The world is well thought out but the characters tend to be under developed. The performance was very well done and flowed very well. I am going to give book 2 a try and see how our writer does.

A Magical city, literally!
Shrill Disk by Helen Harper and narrated by Ruth Urquhart is a story about magic and how magic and a magical object helped take over a city! The magic transformed people into all types of creatures! There are plenty of side stories going on too. This is the story of Charlie as she is right in the middle of this magical mayhem! Great magical fun and disasters!

Helen and Ruth do it again
Great start to a new series!
Thank you Ms Harper for great writing and awesome story lines. Ms Urquhart - you have an amazing storytelling ability and the ability to do a range of voices astounding! I will get any book by Ms Harper that is s read by Ms Urquhart.
