Summary

Are you struggling with childhood sexual abuse consequences?

If you are healing from your history of childhood sexual abuse, you may be feeling like a hamster running around on a wheel, unable to escape your own self-destructive tendencies. Trust and superficial intimate relationships are common in adulthood for many survivors. You will discover the tool that helped the author to lower the effects of the trauma and brought her to the emotional state needed to deal with every aspect of life. By following along Nancy’s journey, you can find shortcuts where you can improve your life, whether that means seeking specific support groups or tackling your dissociation. Here are possible dissociative symptoms:

  • Relationship with your partner is affected by the problem of expressing your needs
  • Making simple decisions is one hard step to take in your life
  • Naming emotions is an impossible mission
  • Answering simple questions is uncomfortable
  • Anger and rage very often arise with others, and you cannot hold them back

Most CSA victims experience dissociative symptoms from their mind/body and are unaware of it. It is then impossible to know your needs or what you want in life.

If you want to find answers to heal trauma and gain self-confidence, then you will want to listen to this audiobook.

Excellent resource for abuse victims

Great resource for those who have gone through abuse. The author shares her personal story of recovery in detail. This is a helpful book knowing that there is assistance and resources out in the world. Narrator has a nice voice and this audiobook is easy to listen to. The Five Freedoms technique was really interesting. I'm glad the author included and explained this. I believe this book will be helpful in the world. Good job.

Affirmation for recovering sexual abbuse.

If you ever suffer from child hood abuse, then there is a high percentage of chance that it will affect your relationship with your partner. I have seen many cases in my life where both boys and girls were not able to do something productive because of fairness which remains in their hearts.

Although it is very difficult to escape these events and they can affect you somewhere in your life, it's still not your fault.

This book is amazing. It basically helps victims to build positive thoughts in their minds and helps them to forget these horrible past events.

Informative and life-changing

Having been through my ordeals as a younger adult, I have never dived into looking through past traumas impacting how I behave today. After a string of bad relationships and questioning why I seem to find all the worst partners, I decided to start looking into my own actions and why I keep making these big mistakes. Before I went to a trauma counselor I wanted to explore the possibility of Trauma Abuse Recovery and this audible was incredible. It was very informative about the stages which has given me the confidence to start with a counselor once a week for the next ten weeks. The chapter on Emotional Numbess summed me up to a tee and this chapter was life-changing for me as it allowed me to make a lot of realisations about my past. Highly recommended for anyone in a similar position.

A good book to start your self-help journey.....

This book is a direct look into the authors psyche as they have healed, and continue to heal, from CSA. While the author is not a mental health professional, good techniques for self-help are introduced to the reader, with some good examples for how and when to make use of them. Many details are easy to connect with and this makes the book easy to read, even with the subject matter.
