Really good information

This book has given me a totally different perspective on my life, because I had no idea of the different ways that overthinking can creep in and trip you up (hello Analysis Paralysis, just for starters!) along with the different ways it can develop as a habit in the first place. I thought I knew what 'overthinking' was, but I hadn't even scratched the surface. After this book, I now understand it much better. The tips given to help overcome it are very practical, and I look forward to trying out different ones (I love the Fear List idea!) as recommended to start improving my life and stop overthinking it!

GREAT BOOK

Stop Overthinking Your existence presents a practical road map to liberate yourself from the bonds of overthinking, enjoy a calmer, more satisfying existence, and alter your viewpoint on anxiety, decision-making, and achieving inner peace with its simple yet effective techniques. In a familiar writing style, the author leads readers toward a greater appreciation for life using straightforward neuroscience and therapy-based strategies. Consider using the calming sensation of water as a mental diversion and a relaxation response inducer. It's a quick fix that calms nerves and releases tension in the muscles. The author also stresses the value of staying hydrated in lowering stress. Drinking water mindfully can be a contemplative activity that helps us refocus and find peace at the moment.

Very helpful

The book's ability to simplify and clarify difficult ideas is one of its strongest points. The author deftly weaves together straightforward neuroscience and therapy-based strategies, leading readers through tested procedures for mental mastery. Particularly life-changing for me were the suggestions for coping with intense emotions. The book lays a firm foundation for comprehending the reasons and repercussions of our persistent thoughts by addressing the science underlying overthinking and the workings of our own brains.

Fascinating

This is an absolutely fascinating book! And what a difference this made for me, as I am definitely that overthinker.

I've listened to this multiple times now and every single time I pick up on something that I missed! But I'm talking night and day difference here in my life.

This is giving me a lot of clarity and insight to myself and I feel like I have much better control over my emotions as well as my thoughts, thank you so much Camryn!!

Quiet your mind with this audiobook

This audiobook has done a fantastic job in teaching me how to stop my constant overthinking!

I used to always seem to be worrying about one thing or another and sometimes spiralling into awfulness.

Then I followed the steps in this book which allowed me to nip it in the book and stop it from getting out of hand when it really doesn't need to.

These days I have little-to-no anxiety (which is always improving!) and feel confident throughout my day :D

Techniques that work!

"Stop Overthinking Your Life" by Camryn Kelley is a practical guide to help readers overcome anxiety and intrusive thoughts and get a good night’s sleep using 11 essential steps. The audio is easy to listen to, and the tone of the writing is compassionate. According to the Author, overthinking is a common struggle that results in anxiety that can prevent a good night’s sleep.
I like the practical techniques and examples that quieten the brain, providing relief and promoting sleep. These are valuable tools for calming the mind. Throughout the book, Kelley emphasizes the importance of self-love, kindness, gratitude, and focus and also introduces readers to a Zen approach to life in general in order to promote a healthier relationship with your thoughts and emotions.
The author also delves into the neuroscience of overthinking to explain why we end up with physical symptoms from overthinking. She asserts that overthinking triggers the body’s fight-or-flight response which can increase the heart rate, sweating and can also cause muscle tension. It’s no wonder sleep is elusive. The techniques rewire the brain to break the cycle of overthinking.
I found this book very helpful. Normally if I don’t fall asleep naturally in the first 5 minutes, it can take up to two hours. Using the techniques provided, I believe I have a formula that works. I am happy to recommend it to anyone who simply can't turn their mind off.

Practical Tips for Managing Overthinking

This book was super useful and practical for me. I am a textbook overthinker and not a very good sleeper as a result. This book is full of practical tips and I found the narrator engaging and easy to listen to. This book will help you manage anxiety and gives you a basis for understanding why we ruminate over things and over analyze things. Definitely recommended.

A relaxing informative book and excellent narrator

There were many parts of this book that really spoke to me, particularly the parts about analysis paralisys and being overwhelmed. I've been taking on a lot of projects and I'm struggling to work my way through them because I'm overthinking everything. This books seems to have a high level of understanding on that issue in systematicall works through practical ways/advice to combat it.
The narrator was an excellent choice for the book too. She has a very relaxing and soothing voice and simultaneously a lot of character!
