Codes and Descriptions

Great story but why all of the long codes for Guns, aircraft, etc
That's BORING.

Very disappointing

I absolutely love the post apocalyptic genre and have listened to so many wonderful books. Some of my favourite authors are Joshua Gayou, Kyla Stone, Devon C Ford, Sarah Lyons Fleming and Christopher Artinian.
I decided to use a credit on this box set as it seemed like good value. Sadly I just can’t get into it. I’ve listened to book one. It’s disjointed and confusing and jumps around way too much. There were too many characters introduced in the first book and I lost track of who they were. I ended up totally confused and found it very hard to focus on the book. The other issue is the narrator. He sounds like Kermit the Frog. I’ve played bits of the book to my husband or sister and it made them laugh and they agreed that the narrators voice would be way too off putting.

No, Just No.

I hate giving bad reviews, but I am in this case. I tried to push through and ignore the problems in story and performance but finally had to turn it off. Nothing made since. Going to ask for money back.

.357 Sig not magnum

ok so I'm a gun guy and maybe I know more than most but obliviously the authors don't have a clue about guns. it's not a Glock 31 .357 magnum... it is chambered in .357 sig and people just dont go flying when hit by a bullet, no matter what size the projectile is that's just someone who doesn't have a clue about guns that watches too many movies from the 90's. Over all the story is solid but way too far fetched for me. I barely made it through the long drawn out gun battles where people seem to shoot a ton but never hit anything. By the way even the smallest bullet will penetrate car doors and couches. There is a difference between cover and concealment.

Awful narrator

The story line is okay, sitting here under lock-down for Covid-19..... but the narrator is terrible. If I wasn't so bored, I would give up on this book because of the awful narration.
Update: Worst book I have ever listened to on EVERY level. Terrible writing, terrible narration. YUCK, what a waste of money.

Monotone

Every time I played this book my mind would shoot into a daydream or fall asleep. I don’t know if it’s because of the story or the narrator... very difficult to pay attention to this book!

Couldn't finish

Between the bad narration and just totally unbelievable parts of the story, I just could not finish. Made it into book 5 and just didn't care anymore. SPOILER, Worst part for me is there is no way a group of preppers and bunch of steel workers are going to follow a crazy Russian. Just would not happen.

Disappointed

the story was decent but the narrator literally ruined the story. his inflections were terrible and he, in no way, captured the personalities of the individual characters. I will be staying away from books read by this narrator.

narrator ruined a good story

this narrator made everyone sound like a whining Nellie Olsen, from Little House On the Prairie. For the first time in my life, I could not finish a book I started.

Everyone from badass bikers to seasoned military elite, were depicted like whiny little girls.

I think the story may have been good, but I just couldn't tell.

A Good Series

The book is good. It had some slow places and a few that were quick to jump to other places. The overall is its a good series, totally worth the listening time and the narrator did a great job.

That was a long ride

I really enjoyed the character development and endured the "lifetime movie of the week" angst that all authors seem to drag the characters through.
The whole lets talk about our feelings while we are feeling our feelings was really out of place while the good guys were being actively hunted was a big stretch.
Great series. Thank you.
