entertaining

Lightweight as intended but engaging characters and an interesting plot. Certainly a pleasure in having light hearted and superficial badies rather than tormented villains but a likeable hero with a complicated past and intelligent and helpful colleagues

easy listening with humour and mystery

A mix of characters with the conflicts not overwhelming. It has minimal gore and gangster action. The plot is enough to engage the brain.

I thoroughly enjoyed it as a pleasurable change from the more graphic crime novels that I've read.

I've seen 'cosy' as descriptor and I agree with that

relationships between the characters

while I enjoy most of the interactions between the characters, I despair of the need to have such unpleasant, snide and unfair whinging ones who are meant to be on the same side but are just plain nasty.

enjoyable

I like the characters and the side stories about pooles parents and brocks wife add interest but they are too short but still I enjoyed all of them very much.
