I'm not so different from most people. Like everyone else, I have life goals. Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am. Goal #2: Convince the four men I've been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete. Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can't remember anything past the five years I've been haunting this quad. Goal #4: Eat popcorn. See? Perfectly normal. Sort of. Gotta start small, after all. It's not like anyone else is perfect either.

“Madison Kate Danvers was murdered tonight.” Those words changed my life, and not for the better. They were wrong, of course. I wasn’t dead. But I was set up. After being charged with a string of offences - and made an example of by my political-minded father - I’m eventually released back into Shadow Grove with one thing on my mind. Hate. It gets old, trust me. Same goes for love. I can pass it out like sugar-free lollipops at a dentist's office, but I can't get any love for myself. It totally sucks. I used to consider myself a hopeless romantic, so why wouldn't I choose to become a cupid? Sounds like a good idea, right? Wrong again. They don't call us stupid cupids for nothing.

Interesting Twist For Paranormal Reverse Harem
I’d probably give the story 4.5 stars if I could, and the performance 3.5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book, the story was engaging, intriguing and the characters were interesting and well rounded. The plot was clever and drew me in. I felt the narration let the audio version of this book down as I felt Janine Granda was quite stilted in her performance in places. In other places her delivery felt subdued and restrained.
Evelyn has been on the run her entire life. She and her mother have moved consistently on a frequent basis, changing identities and locations in order to hide. Evelyn was never told what she was hiding from and the last time she had to move her mother blamed her for getting too close to people. Running for what felt like the thousandth time, they caught a plane to the US from Australia and the plane crashed. Evelyn and one other person survived.
Alone in the world and now living under her latest fake name in the US, in foster care, she is contacted by a prestigious university when she turns 18. It’s a university that deals primarily with Variants. Variants are humans with extra abilities. Evelyn, now called Eve, is pretty sure she’s straight up human but has excellent grades and is invited on a full scholarship to attend, with immediate effect.
Alone in a strange new world of people with fascinating abilities she is bewildered by people who actually seem to want to be friends with her.
There are all sorts of clever plot twists and building of tension but the thing I enjoyed the most was Eve learning how to relate to others. To try and build relationships and navigate the strange new world of families. It was fascinating.
I was really sucked in to the story, and will definitely read the next book, but I probably won’t listen to it on audio.

One of the worst fantasies I've read in years!
This book suffered from many problems.
1) The main character sounded too immature even for a 17-year-old - I was more mature at 15 and girls
are supposed to grow up faster than boys.
2) The male voices WERE TERRIBLE! They sounded at times like they were speaking from the bottom
of a can or from inside an all-metal room, and the voices were unrealistically deep. I've met thousands of people
in my life including some few guys with very deep voices but these (or this one guy playing several
males) voices sounded somehow fake and artificial not like any normal human I've ever heard.
3) The main character was too whiny and constantly astonished by things that should have been expected
just logically because of other things that had already happened.
4) The whole story took WAY WAY TOO LONG TO PLAY OUT!
5) It took 'til almost the end of the book to finally get to a good scene where there was a big fight between the good guys and the bad guys, and then even that was poorly laid out, short and boring. One of the good guys
basically knocked out all the bad guys in one fell swoop. No extended battles nor real intrigue.
I will be asking for my credit back on this one and not looking forward to the next one.
It really makes me wonder what she did to become "an international best selling author?"
6) This was really more of a Romance Novel than a good fantasy novel.
7) If you're concerned about morality, the main female character is now bonded to 4 different guys and wants to
kiss, touch and probably fornicate with all of them! Maybe that's why she's a "bestselling" author - but only of
cheap romance novels. It sounds like it may turn into almost an orgy in future books. Definitely not why I read SciFi!

The Narration is awful
This was a great story. In fact, the story was so good that it kept me listening even though the narration was the worst that I have ever heard. I tried adjusting the speed. Nothing helped. I hate to say it but if the same narrator is on the next release, I will have to pass on the audio book and read it myself.

Good Plot but Weak Writing
I loved the plot and the Polyamorous relationship but the writing reminds me of a fanfiction. The main character follows a few common tropes but the biggest is how easily she accepts the poly nature of things. I find it extremely unrealistic as a poly minded woman myself. Our society doesn't accept polyamorous relationships well, even if it is more common in her world.
I also think that the male narrator needs to work on emotions when he reads. The way he spoke didn't match the way the characters felt and they all sounded the same and peppy.

Definitely YA with an R rating
I've read and listened to the whole series, the books back-to-back a year ago and then the audio books back-to-back.
This is a very simple version of The Seraph Black Series by Jane Washington. Its a good story but has a lot of issues with rushing the story.
There are alot of annoying things about this series. Want some examples?
**Minor Spoilers**
-The MC cries constantly. Constantly. Dont think this is just a little crying. Its bad.
- She has a 150 IQ and has been taught how to run and dissappear her whole life but can't even get out of the city when she runs when she thinks the people who scared her mom had her.
- One of her men verbally and mentally abuses her and leaves her alone and grieving for a year, she says she's angry and won't recover but forgives them within a few days.
- Her men have had powers almost their whole lives but only 1 can even use his with any intelligence. Like her fire guy can put out fire but doesn't in a main scene, the pain master (almost 30yrs old) can target either one person or everyone at the same time (really?) but wont use his powers when his whole family is going to die?
-Her men promise not to lie but literally lie to her the next day and over and over after that. Does she learn from it? No. Forgive and forget, right?
-One of her guys can fly and has Telekinesis. Full Stop. This is a game killer of a combo. He NEVER uses flight or fine manipulation. Its just stupid.

So good
Such a good book! I absolutely loved it. In the beginning I thought it was a little slow and the male voice in this story took me a little to get used to and I didn’t really like it in the beginning but I ended up loving it in the end. After a couple of chapters that I thought were a little slow the story took off and there were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. One hundred percent recommend one of my favorite reverse harems.

Blown away
It doesn't happen often that I find I love an audiobook even more than I loved the ebook. Equally? Yes. More? Rarely. Being in a reread-mood lately, I like to explore audio versions of ebooks I've read before, simply because it is perfect for multitasking. I know the story and I have my hands free, win win! Well, I got sucked in this audiobook so hard, it felt like I read it for the first time. Eve's inquisitive nature, Alec's surly and moody disposition, Tyler's natural leadership skills, Ethan's bubbly personality and Josh being in tune with Eve's emotional state. The dual narration really lifted this book to an even higher level, while I didn't think that was possible.
