Summary

Crazy psycho ex? Check.

Massive Imprint Tattoo appearing and taking my total up to three now? Check.

Five deliciously gorgeous new guys at school and secrets galore? Check.

I have a feeling everything is about to change.

Sage is just done - done with the abuse that her mother puts her through daily, done with always being so alone and done with being one of the youngest humans to get an Imprint Tattoo. Only a small percentage of the human population over the age of 18 ever receive one, and they only appear when a soul-changing event happens in that person's life. Sage's first one showed up when she was nine, yay for being weird!

She's been fighting for so damn long, and she's just tired of it all. When she's almost fully given up, hope comes in the arrival of five new guys at her crappy high school, the guys are shrouded in secrets but it's not like she's being completely honest with them either.

If Sage doesn't let her fear control her, then she has the chance to be a part of something amazing but fate throws them all a curveball when they realize that their lives are more intertwined than any of them could've imagined, and as secrets about her past come to light and her psycho ex makes a reappearance, she can't help but find comfort in the five guys who give her hope.

This is a slow/ medium burn paranormal reverse harem.

Warnings: Please be advised that this book contains dark themes, including abuse, memories of abuse from when she was a child, violence, and cursing. Additionally, sexual themes suitable for mature audiences 18+. All sex is consensual.

Only the 1st book on audible

Narration:
I thought both narrators did a fine job…no major complaints. I listened at 1.1x speed.

Story:
I enjoyed the story and it has a bit of a cliffhanger so I had to download the next book to read since it’s not on audible. Be warned: this is only a trilogy. Also be warned, it does end all wrapped up and resolved. I though there might be more books as the ‘4th’ book is advertised on kindle but if you’re not paying attention (like I wasn’t) you think the series will continue. I’m quite disappointed that it’s not.

Awkward

The pace of the story is awkward. Everything is rushed. Feels like no character development. Very, VERY repetitive. Character reactions are not realistic 90% of the time. MC accepted everything without questioning wayy too fast.

This book is some Wattpad garbo.

Ugh! I DNF'd right around the time they revealed that the hot boys were not ORDINARY hot boys, but special fancy buff hot boys.

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever tried to listen to. I wanted to shake tf outta the FMC, every other sentence out of a male character's mouth was a pet name, and I just. Ugh. If you're 13, you might really enjoy this.

serious pacing issues

the general plot is good, the boys are wonderful, but there is a massive amount of repetition. there are drawn out retellings of action that occurred not minutes before and it makes parts painfully boring.

I'm hoping the second book does better.

eh

The reader did a good job over all, though the guys sounded enough alike that I sometimes lost track of who was talking. I liked the idea of the story, and there was a strong beginning, but I was rather bored. I got tired of the F-bomb being dropped seemingly every other word. Not prudish about the use, I am just BORED with it. I was also irritated with winking and smirking. I am OLD, and I can only thing of a couple of times someone has actually winked, and it was some skeevy older guy with bad social skills. Smirking? Smirking is a type of smiling with a negative connotation. Look it up. It should never be the default expression. I like young adult and new adult books, but I expect better writing.

Great story line with steam

Book 1 isn't "smutty" yet, but it's steamy and is building, so more probably comes in the next book. Good story line with a web of connecttions. Recommend!

more beta reading and less conflicting information

**Spoiler Alert**

The overall plot has some unique elements. however there are significant issue with contradictory statements. 'sound of crashing makes the decision for FMC to go to school, but mother is sound asleep when she walks out the door.
I enjoy suspended reality, but the drunken beatings with no reason makes no sense. Even a drunkard will have a "reason" for the things they do.
Drunks and addicts also wouldn't throw a container with their fix in it, at someone.
the FMC is so afraid of people getting to know her, but she has had prior romantic relationships, and in less than 24hrs (and 3 sentences exchanged) she is calling these strangers "my guys". She wish washes about being friends and then lets these men she doesn't know just kiss her and touch her. while being traumatized and a victim of abuse.
the cafeteria scene, where a students have a physical altercation, shouting, and swearing. a student collapses on the floor. Then 4 brand new students were able take her from the school and agreed to her asinine request for no hospitals. and not a single school official had a thing to say?

Imprinted Tattoos

This is a good start to a possibly great series. I can’t wait to learn more about these characters and how they and the story evolves.
