Summary
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Book One in the TimeRiders series, read by Trevor White.
Liam O'Connor should have died at sea in 1912. Maddy Carter should have died on a plane in 2010. Sal Vikram should have died in a fire in 2029. Yet moments before death, someone mysteriously appeared and said, "Take my hand..."; But Liam, Maddy and Sal aren't rescued. They are recruited by an agency that no one knows exists, with only one purpose - to fix broken history. Because time travel is here, and there are those who would go back in time and change the past.
That's why the TimeRiders exist: to protect us. To stop time travel from destroying the world...

I'm an adult and I think it brilliant!
This book has a really good story to it and was very easy to listen to.
The characters were so well defined by the narrator and he really did a good job with all their accents.
I recommend this book both adults and kids age 12/13 as some bits are real but violence was kept in short bursts and not too explicit, there's no swearing that's a big decision when I read books, mind Liam says a lot of Mary mother of Jesus 😉😋
I am definitely going to read the other books as it was enthralling from the beginning! Give it a try! 👍👍

Aimed I think at teenagers
Would you try another book written by Alex Scarrow or narrated by Trevor White?
No
Would you recommend TimeRiders (Book 1) to your friends? Why or why not?
No, my friends are in their fifties
Could you see TimeRiders (Book 1) being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
Oh yes , if it hasn't already been done.
Any additional comments?
This is I think a book aimed at a teenage / young adult market. It's about time travellers but lacks the logic that older readers usually require from their time travel tales. A certain suspension of disbelief is always required when protagonists wander around in time but here the structure just doesn't make sense. Also the Time Riders choose a young lad with no knowledge of 20th century history, computers or anything much to investigate time "crimes" in the 20 th century, really ? With the whole of time to choose from this is the best candidate to wander round clueless in the 1950's ( his future but everyone else's past) to find out what's changed , not clever and I stopped listening.

The future past.
Well written and well read, not to everyones taste but very much to mine. Three young people become the saviours of time with the help of Bob, an A. I unit, and Forster an older time rider. I will definitely reread this book and get the next in the series.

Pretty good
As the headline states it was a pretty good audio book. The narrator is spot on and consistent with his characters voices. the story is good for what it is.

Good performance
Having read the series I was interested in how it would sound in audio, I wasn’t disappointed at all.
A gripping story that rattled through at a great pace. Will definitely be getting the rest of the series now.

Great story
great story, I'm glad I can't across the series. I've already purchased and downloaded the next 3 books and look forward to listening to them.
unlike the other teen books, this has you gripped from the beginning. it doesn't waste time with the science fiction jargon, but keeps you centered on the story. a great story narrated but a very talented person.

Amazing Series, Highly Recommended!
If you’ve read my other reviews you’ll know I’m a pretty level-headed reader so I don’t say this lightly…OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS BOOK!!
Seriously, BUY THIS BOOK IMMEDIATELY!!
I haven’t been this enchanted with a series since I first picked up Harry Potter!
TimeRiders utilise illegal time travel technology, sent from our future, in order to restore the correct history when nefarious travellers make changes.
I’ve had my eye on TimeRiders for a while as a big fan of time travel stories and I was thrilled to finally have the audiobooks available.
The lore/mythology of the time travel was light but very clever and enjoyable. The structure of the story – multiple POVs in both the past and present – shows the reader ‘butterfly effects’ in real-time which is great fun. It also packs the books with action as the all the members of the TimeRiders team must work to battle the devastating effects of altered history in both the past and present.
Book one jumped went into the genres’ big guns – Hitler, JFK and even 9/11. If you think you’ve seen that all before, trust me, TimeRiders’ approach was fresh and original (also respectful!).
I’ve torn through the first four available books in a giddy rush and I’ve raved about the TimeRiders series to anyone who would listen.
I cannot recommend TimeRiders strongly enough to readers of all ages.
They are also amazing value for such lengthy books so you really can’t go wrong!

A Whole New Slant to the Book!
Being a time travel fan, I have really enjoyed this series by Alex Scarrow and have read all of the published ones and am "patiently" waiting for his final installment. Because I will be using the first in the series as a class text for my English class I decided I had better revisit it and listening is the easiest and quickest way for me.
I was not disappointed! Trevor White did a wonder reading and I am pleased to see that he has continued with the rest of the series. It is quite interesting to hear someone read a book that you have already read for the reader often picks up different things that you missed. Trevor also is quite good with his accents. I particularly enjoyed Bob's voice. Looks like I will be using more of my credits to complete the series!
