Summary

I couldn’t kill Mara…

But that doesn’t mean Shaw won’t.

She’s living in my house, always with me, always under my control.

The more I push her, the more she pushes back.

She’s peeling away my secrets, one by one. And I’m tempting her to do things she never thought she’d do….

Shaw won’t stop hunting her.

When the time comes to act, will Mara be ready?

The Lark Notes:
I was so pleased how many women identified with Mara’s character--with her sensory issues and history of trauma. It sounds crazy to call this an “inspirational story of murder”, but at the end of part two, I hope you will indeed feel inspired by Mara’s journey. — Sophie

There Is No Devil is the second half of the Sinners Duet. Listener be warned: This is a dark and steamy serial killer romance that may be triggering to some.

Cole and Maya!

Cole is a dark and dangerous man who follows his own path when it comes to right and wrong. He was intrigued by Maya from the first time he saw her and that only increases with each passing day. The feelings he has for her are foreign but he will do anything to ensure her safety and happiness even if his means are unconventional.

Maya has a difficult past and although she knows she shouldn’t have feelings for Cole she can’t help herself. The more they share about their pasts the more she understands him in a way that no one else can however there is a threat hanging over their head and the only escape is through Cole’s dark and dangerous ways.

Cole and Maya are unconventional and are exactly what the other needs in their life. They appreciate each other for who they are and despite the fact they are very different they balance each other to perfection. I enjoyed the performance of narrators as they brought out of the depth of the characters as well as the action of the storyline. 🎧 Pink Flamingo Productions

Part of a Series: Sinners Duet book 2

5/5

There is No Devil starts right where the first book ends and was engrossing from the start. I binged this book in a day and liked it better than the first book. While Mara is becoming a rising star her and Cole are relentless pursued by a police detective which builds even more tension. I love that both Cole and Mara push each other's limits and boundaries and really enjoyed that humor sprinkled throughout. Sophie Lark is a master at dark romantic suspense.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsessions and Pink Flamingo Productions. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Serial Killer Romance

There Is No Devil by Sophie Lark is a serial killer romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz. This is the second book in the Sinners Duet.

I absolutely love Sophie's books! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved the chemistry between Cole and Mara. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Lee and Jeffrey did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you like serial killer romances, dark romances, or romantic suspense.

Dark and delicious x2

Girl, yes! I absolutely loved this conclusion to the duet. I loved the growth of the characters and how the relationship developed in this second book. And the inner conflict going on within each character in this dual POV is fascinating. Once again, the narration by Lee and Jeffrey is next level and fit the characters perfectly. They gave so much life to these characters and Lark’s brilliant writing that I felt like I was watching it play out! A definite must have for all fans of dark romance.

Intensely Intriguing!

Cole and Mara are on a whole different level. They are so unique, unlike anything I've ever read and definitely one of the best duets I've ever read. Sophie knocked it so far out of the park with this duet. I will never be able to adequately explain my awe of her.

Cole is so far removed from the world, he doesn't even realize it but Mara is his kryptonite. She is the yin to his yang in so many ways and I loved it. I loved watching them grow together and seeing their connection with each other. They are so in tune with each other. They mesh together so well.

The events that happen in this book had me reeling and on the edge of my seat. The angst was strong and the suspense was perfect! I loved it. Shaw was ruthless through and through, I wanted to see his demise so bad. I wanted there to be justice for everything. I won't give any spoilers so I will just leave it like that but this book blew me away!

Mara growth and Cole's help were so great. They are such a great team and I loved it. The things they do for each other is true relationship, true love. They have an unbreakable bond. They are one another's other half and the connection between the two shows that.

I can't get over the fact that Sophie's such an amazing writer that she makes you not only love a serial killer but she also makes you understand him! It's spectacular!

Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz once again did not disappoint!

Very dark

I love this author but this is too much. You can't mix romance with murderers. It's not sexy. It's just messed up

What a duet!

Talk about twisted! I love Sophie Lark and she continues her story of Cole, Mara and Shaw, keeping us on edge and wondering just how things will end. Cole and Mara's relationship continues to deepen, and Cole's obsession with Mara strengthens. Shaw is quietly crazed, and begins to act out more erratically. But how will these two end the madness? There are a few things I just was captivated by while listening to this book. First, how can I fall for a serial killer? There is something about the characters that Lark gives us, softening my heart for one and increasing dislike for the other. I also found it interesting how Mara's personality brought out all sides of her, giving us that note that although she is the light for Cole, there is definitely a darkness within. I love the twisted story, the way Lark brings everything full circle and gives the closure I needed to finish out this duet! It's the perfect mix of thriller and romance, and I loved getting in the head of a serial killer! Great series!

Lee Daniels and Jeffery Holz finish out this duet with their phenomenal performances. These two could not have been more perfectly cast. Daniels brings out all the different facets of Mara's personality, from meek artist to dark thinker. Holz is amazing with his voice, giving us the true feelings of what Cole and Shaw are like. It's bone chilling at times, and loving. he brings it all alive. This team is fantastic and I enjoyed the listen!

sinners

I loved the dual of narration of Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz, perfect.

I thought the first book was brilliant and this one is as brilliant. At the end of book one Cole is opening up to his feeling to Mara. We delving more into Mara horrific childhood and seeing how she’s turned out to be this absolute badass This book was so hot, the spice was amazing and the oh the chemistry between these two characters. Brilliant.

Dark, Twisted & Sinfully Diabolical! Amazing 🎧📚🎧

This second part of the “Sinners Duet” is just as much of a mind-blow as the first part “There are No Saints” and just as amazing. The story picks up where that one ended, Cole and Mara further their relationship, well it is more like Mara becomes Cole’s obsession, something he struggled with but gives in to. Mara is in her element now and is coming into her own and Cole is helping further her career and name in the industry. Shaw is still a thorn in their side and continues to do his thing, hitting closer to home for Mara, too close. Cops never helped or believed Mara from the get go and the only way to get rid of a problem is by dealing with it themselves but can Mara handle something like that, Cole does not think she is ready for that step and puts her thru some tests. As evil as Cole is, it is amazing how Sophie Lark has you rooting for him, same with Mara, but for different reasons, and she shows how everyone or anyone can have a dark side to them. This killer romantic suspense is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Sophie Lark, thank you for this amazing story and wild and crazy ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Lee Daniel and Jeffery Holz’s outstanding performance of bringing these characters and their story to life continues. Their character voices have been consistent and the quality of the audio has been top-notch. I loved how they took each role, ran with it and made it their own and were believable in every role they played. You could not have asked for a better cast to perform these roles, their voices worked well together and their performances complemented each other’s. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Brilliant conclusion

This is the second half of the Sinners Duet and continues the dark and steamy serial killer romance story of Mara and Alastor, the tension between these characters continues to escalate. The book contains dark and triggering themes and is not for everyone. The audiobook is narrated by Lee Daniels and Jeffrey Holz, who again do an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. Daniels portrays the main protagonist with the same intense voice as in the first book, while Holz brings Alastor Shaw to life with a chilling and sinister tone. This was an excellent continuation of the Sinners Duet and a fitting conclusion. This book is a must-read for those who enjoy dark and steamy romance and are not easily disturbed.
