Summary

He’s no Prince Charming....

Callum Griffin is the heir to the Irish mafia. He’s ruthless, arrogant, and he wants to kill me.

We got off on the wrong foot when I set a (very small) fire in his house. Our families believe a marriage pact is the only thing that will prevent all-out warfare.

I think I might need to murder him while he sleeps. This would all be a lot easier if Callum wasn’t so damned good-looking.

But I’ve got a lockbox around my heart. Because, even if I’m forced to marry him, I could never love a brutal prince.

Brutal Prince is the explosive first act in the epic Brutal Birthright series. It’s a stand-alone dark Mafia romance, complete with HEA and no cliff-hangers. It contains blazing-hot bedroom scenes for mature listeners only!

Give it a few chapters

When I first started this book I wasn’t a fan but not to be deterred I kept listening and then loved it. It’s a slow start and at the beginning I didn’t like either of the main characters and I wasn’t so sure of the storyline but then it hit its stride and I throughly enjoyed it. I love how Ada is so herself and doesn’t care who doesn’t like her and just does what needs doing. Great listen and I can’t wait for more!

Loved it!

I freaking love Aida! She’s sick a ba fmc. I love that she’s not a damsel in distress and loves getting in on the action.

Callum is a d canoe but he embraces his feelings for her and he’s definitely an alpha ahole I want in my life!

This is my first book by Sophie Lark and I was not disappointed! I looked forward to the rest of the books in this series!

Monica & Liam both did great jobs narrating!

Review

This is a story of two rival families that come together for a mutual benefit. I really enjoyed Aida’s character and the snarkiness that she brings to the story. She is actually pretty ballsy and hilarious.

Overall, it’s a good listen.

Not the dark mafia I wanted

Ok so, not a bad book. It was well written and has good character build up for more books but for me it was more political than mafia. I loved the title “Brutal Prince” and the fact that it was a dark mafia which is what pulled me in however there was very little mafia in it and when there was it was over in a chapter and he was not brutal in any way. It needed more of the “dark” for me. I didn’t feel a connection between the two either and tbh the reason that the marriage was arranged was as juvenile as the 20 something female character.

So Good want more

Oh where to start! This book was full of suspense or rather twists and turns. Some I saw coming some not so much. What happens when two headstrong people clash. TROUBLE comes abound. Ada is a gangster's daughter and fiesty she is.She is Italian. Cal is just had hard headed being the son of a Irish Mafia. Ada and her brothers sneak into the Griffin house to check out Nessa's birthday party. She gets caught or stuck in the library when Cal comes in. She has to think how to get out. A little fire perhaps. Cal notices something is missing from the library. ( I'm not going to tell you what) Ada and her brother Sebastian have a run in with Cal and his bodyguard Jack on the pier. Trouble ensues.
Ada and Cal are forced to marry per the agreement of their fathers. This doesn't bode well for either one. But as they navigate their marriage with an ex and deranged BF and a Polish Gangster, their bond gets stronger. They save each other from harm and death all the while denying their feelings.

Monica King and Liam DiCosimo are new narrators to me. Holy Moly, they were both amazing. When they played the oppisite role, it was hard to tell if it was still them. They were that good. You could feel the emotions and the story pouring out from their souls. Looking forward to more from these two narrators.

The author is also new to me. Can I just say WOW! Need More.

My Thoughts on Brutal Prince

It's a great feeling when you've just come across a truly fantastic book. It's even better when you know you've just found a new author to add to your must have more list and the book you've just finished is part of a series. I now get to look forward to more books featuring these characters that I loved in this story.

Brutal Prince was an intense and engaging mafia romance. It features one crazy couple brought together because of an arranged marriage. Theirs was most certainly an enemies-to-lovers tale. The leading couple was very angry, and very volatile. But it made for a super steamy story. And everything going on with their family and others around them made for such an engrossing experience.

The narrators were both new to me but they were crazy good. They had great emotion both good and bad, snarky and serious, it was just excellent range. I hope to hear more from them in future.
