Summary

He didn’t kill them, he didn’t rape them, he didn’t torture them; his crime was far, far worse.

Three women go missing without trace. A week is enough for the psychopath known in the press as the 'the Soul-Breaker' to destroy them. By the seventh day the women are psychologically dead, like bodies without a soul.

Shortly before Christmas, the Soul-Breaker strikes again, this time in an exclusive psychiatric clinic. The clinic has been cut off by a snowstorm, and the Soul-Breaker is in their midst. Trapped in the clinic, staff and patients band together to protect each other, but in a night of unimaginable terror, the Soul-Breaker shows them that no one is safe.

enjoyable but unbelievable

Too convoluted and outlandish for my tastes but entertaining enough if you can suspend belief sufficiently.

It should have been very good but lost its way

Physiological thriller or it was supposed to be. The audio was excellent but a very weak story line and failed to meet its title in so many ways. Very disappointed

Not like the sample clip (2020)

The sample audio file/trailer makes this sound like it is going to be something from the saw franchise. It is actually a very good horror mistory, with plenty of layers to what's going on and a good amount of misdirection.

cracking good story

The first scene sounded really pretty horrific and I was not at all sure I wanted to continue, but once that was done the rest of the story made it worthwhile. Well acted, a good plot, I can really recommend this audible book (although audible play would be a more accurate description. )

Incredible, Thought provoking, Terrifying *spolier

I absolutely love this story. It ticks all of the boxes for me; it is narrated beautifully by an incredible cast & I have not been so drawn in by a tale as I have by this in a very long time! I cannot praise the writer, nor the readers enough... The story revolves around a serial killer who utilises locked in syndrome, which has always both intrigued & horrified me in equal measure.. In the main part of the story we find the central character/ story teller suffering from amnesia & as they are trying to figure out who they can trust whilst danger lurks around every corner, snippets of recollection from their past cast shadows of doubt as to what kind of person they actually are & whether or not they themselves can be trusted...
This is one I shall definitely be listening to again & again whilst recommending it to anyone who will listen!
