Summary

Dozens of werewolves compete to claim a pack mate spot, but only four can win. Let the She-Wolf Games begin!

With werewolves on the brink of extinction, packs from everywhere came together in an attempt to overcome their differences. The creation of the She-Wolf Games did just that, bringing peace among the territories as packs worked toward the same goal: To save their species.

Usually, I’d be touched by such a monumental occasion, but I had no idea werewolves existed. Or that female werewolves were a commodity and the ultimate prize.

I figured it out fast after a beautiful pack of wolves saved me from the men involved in my dad’s criminal past. If only one of the cute suckers hadn’t bitten me, triggering the nature my dad kept hidden with magic. Or if these men hadn’t carried me away to a sanctuary for the last werewolf packs in existence.

Because now, I find myself as one of three she-wolves among a few dozen men competing for a chance to fill a spot in my new pack. Four scary-hot werewolves who all get to claim me? I think I need to stretch. These men will do anything to win the She-Wolf Games. It’s supposed to be for a good cause, right? Hell no. I will put these tough guys in their places. I’ll show them that I’m not some docile prize. I’m their rightful leader now.

If you love fast burn, fated mates, instant attraction, and a woman who loves fiercely protective men, this book is perfect for you. Get ready for sparks to fly as the games begin!

Lyric

so Lyric learns that she is more then human when she is kidnapped and thrown into the she-wolf games which is where 4 spots are available for mates. I started with book 2 and now it makes sense after listening to this book. Read or listen from the start.

FMC with back bone and fighting skills

This story really pulled me in. I loved how Lyric didn't believe what anyone told her and continued to question everything.
After being evicted, Lyric is kidnapped and told she is a she-wolf and must take part in the traditional She-Wolf Games. An old way of determining the best wolves for the She-Wolf's pack. Only Lyric was never told she was a wolf and she clings to her dad's teachings, disbelieving what she is told and questions everything.
Slowly she forms friendships, but is still reluctant to immerse herself into this new life.
This is book 1 in a 'why choose' series.

I enjoyed Auri Alden's narration, the different voices were easy to understand and I would happily listen to her narration again.

awesome story

I wasn't familiar with the story before as I hadn't read this book but the audio is really good. It made me laugh so that is a good surprise. It starts slow but soon picks up speed. I love shifter books and this one was really different as in the games that take place. I also loved the fight Lyric has in her. not some faint damsel in distress story. the narrator I enjoyed too.

Very interesting story!

Very interesting story and the first time I am listening to an audiobook I have not read beforehand.
A fast-paced story that takes on twists and turns. It has me anticipating the sequel. I'll be waiting.
The narration was well performed and I enjoyed listening to the book.
A recommendation from me.

It’s all fun and games 😉

Great book! A really interesting twist to the traditional trope of having wolf alpha males with putting women as the pack leaders! There’s a LOT of nakedness and talk of sex. There’s a mix of fated mates and having to earn the right to be with the FMC which created some interesting relations!
The narrator has the right balance of vulnerable and incredulity for the FMC and so really helps to bring her character to light.

Great Start to a series

I found this book to be extremely intriguing. I was drawn in right from the start. Lyric can be a bit of *itch, but when you have grown up as a human knowing nothing of the supernatural world that's understandable. The She-Wolf games seems so archaic to Lyric but the wolves are doing what they think is best to grow their numbers. Her possible mates are pretty awesome and sound amazingly HOT! There is some steam in this book. I love the silly things that are randomly said to try and calm Lyric when she is overwhelmed by what is going on. There is tons of action and story. I was hooked. The ending is a big cliff hanger and I can't wait to listen to the next book.

I thought Auri Alden did a great job narrating. She was consistent with the voices and I enjoyed her voice.

Over Sexed. Ugh.

Ugh. I hate when a promising book is over sexualized I’m a big RH fan and I know that comes with more sex than some others but damn. Every other word was about big kissed or licked or sucked it was so annoying. I honestly can’t tell you how the book ended because I didn’t finish it. I just feel like there is no real story when every damn chapter she fantasize about being fucked. Ugh.

Just could not finish listening.

Very confusing, the beginning was ok and promised a great book but then there is a mix of names, actions and oversexed chapters, don't get me wrong, I love steamy hot books with hot guys having un but I simply could not untangle this one, tried rewinding several times yo see if I could catch up but it does not have a definite story to follow, was excited to read and listen but was disappointed, narrators are great and was the only thing keeping me from giving up sooner. Would not recommend

It wasnt that bad….

I find that the story wasnt too bad but just too sexual for me. As an asexual person this makes me put off, as the whole book felt like smut instead of a fantasy book. I wwont be gettting anymore of these books.

Stockholm Syndrome

The author starts by digging herself into a hole with the premise of the story and the motivations of the characters. A group of men chase and attack a woman. The men then kidnap her, keeping her locked in a literal cage. She is informed that she has to “compete” in a “game” wherein the men all get to take turns using her until she dies of old age.

The author tries to convince readers that because the fmc has transient thoughts that some of the men are physically attractive, that the fmc wants to be sexually assaulted by multiple men and subjected to forced births for the rest of her life. How does the author attempt to circumvent consent and justify the repeated physical attacks, including keeping the fmc locked in a cage? The men can all hear her thoughts. Of course, the author pointedly has all of the men conveniently ignore her thoughts about being held captive or her terror regarding what the author says is supposed to be a fun game. No, no, all they hear is that she thinks they have big penises.

Female MC is awful

I have never reviewed a book before, to my shame. However, this book has inspired me to write my first. The female main character in this book is so damn annoying, it’s hard for me to enjoy the rest of the book which I think is wonderful! She is contrary, obstinate, hypocritical, stubborn, mean spirited and can be just play ugly. She does this under the guise of being a strong female.
I call bullshit!
She is just a shameless, bad tempered, disagreeable and churlish bitch who wouldn't know common politeness and decency if it bit her on the ass..... and God forbid she ever apologize for that vile tongue of hers that she unleashes on the undeserving.
Other than her.... This is a fantastic series with some truly outstanding narration.
If you've got the patience to put up with the shrew of a fmc (her behavior and attitude DOES NOT IN ANY WAY add to or enhance the book or storyline in my opinion,) then you should definitely get this series and dive in. The story itself is fantastic.
🙏🤘

Need the next book now

Think hunger games meet wolf pack and you get this series. The heroine of the series, Lyric is forced into the games and into a world that she never knew.
This book unpacks everything and there is a lot to process
The alphas in this book are so cliche to begin with but that what drew me into this book. I enjoy a variety of characters and the descriptions are on point. Lyric's journey isn't easy and I really admire her for standing her ground and not letting the guys walk all over her. I need to grab to the rest of this series as this book has me hooked.
