She’s planned the perfect Christmas. But fate might have other ideas....

Krystle didn’t have a normal childhood and longed for warm family Christmases with presents under the tree. Now she makes sure everyone else has the perfect Christmas she never had, bringing beautiful decorations to cheer as many people as possible.

With her festive business booming, she decides to celebrate by renting a secluded house in the Lakes, with a plan to make this the ultimate yuletide getaway.

But fate immediately throws a spanner in the works in the form of a broken-down car, a flooded river and Max; a man who despises Christmas.

Krystle becomes determined to show Max the joys of the holiday. She won’t take no for an answer.

Can she melt Max’s Grinch-like heart? And can he show her that life doesn’t need to go to plan to take you somewhere magical....

Let Sunday Times bestseller Phillipa Ashley whisk you away to the Lakes, with a story full of unexpected romance, second chances, snowflakes and starlight! Perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan, Karen Swan and Heidi Swain.

Heartwarming.

Lovely Lovely tale . Got through it quickly, heartwarming , and a bit in the middle will bring a tear to your eyes, you would have to be pretty hard not to.
It also brings in a more serious message , and pays tribute to those who .... that would be a spoiler, so won't give it away.

This was a delightful Christmas story and I loved it! I’m going to look for another audiobook written by Phillipa Ashley and hopefully read so well by Harrie Dobby

Absolutely Loved this story

This is the first book I've listened to by Phillipa Ashley, and I will definitely be listening to a lot more of hers. I'm a huge fan of Jill Mansell's book, and this one made me think of her writing style.
Wonderfully rich writing, with all of the characters and locations beautifully described and easy to picture in your mind. This story had lots of tense excitement, elements to tug at your heartstrings, and romance too. I listened to the whole audiobook in a day, as I just couldn't stop listening. Loved it!
Excellent narration by Harrie Dobby really brought all of the characters to life.

A Christmas Story in a winter wonderland

Another lovely Christmas tale from the pen of Phillipa Ashley set in the beautiful Lake District with its snowy mountains and rural villages as the backdrop.
As always, Phillipa gently educates as she entertains - this time it’s the turn of the Mountain Rescue Team to receive the Ashley treatment. By the end I was ready to sign up, although living on the edge of the very flat Fens, there isn’t much call for it near me!
Anyone who loves Christmas will be beguiled by the visions of decorations and you can’t fail to be moved by the Santa’s Grotto stories.
Harrie Dobby as narrator does a great job of making sure the listener can recognise the characters - always key to a good audiobook, and brings the story to life as you listen.
No spoilers, but Jake is the star of the show.
Hoping for more stories in this setting please!

What a fabulous Book

This book was just amazing, I was listening to it on my way to and from work, I couldn't stop and wanted my journey to go on forever so I could listen to it. There story is fabulous I love all the character and how the story builds. I laughed along with the book and it was also so emotional, you rooted for the main characters that they would be ok and come together, and it had such a festive cheer running through it that I now feel so festive after finishing the book, I loved this book from start to end and would recommend this book to all.

*A Christmas Dream*

This book for me was better the latter half. The main character Krystal aka Krys did not have the best start in life with her mother money was lacking and they sofa surfed and when her mother met a new man, Krys became an inconvenience. She ended up staying with her aunt who virtually brought her up and added stability to her life. During her childhood she went on trips for children who lacked income and she stumbled upon this house she loved and as she peered into the window it was decked out with all the trimmings that she always dreamt of she promised herself she would stay there one day. It was called Holly Manor.

Fast forward many years She is now known as Mrs Christmas due to her job as a buyer for many companies supplying all things Christmas. Her job is all consuming. Her boyfriend understood her drive as he also travelled all over the place for his work on his rise to the top job.

So, in order to have time together she books the very place she remembers from her childhood. This trip is make or break for their relationship, are they on the same wavelength?

They run into trouble on their travel up in heavy rain and need help and the very gruff on appearance character Max comes to their aid. He is carrying a painful secret that he holds dear and has cut himself off preferring to live in solitude. Why does he hate Christmas? Things change when meeting Krys puts his feelings into conflict and things unravel when an opportunity comes up that may mean that he comes out of the shadows and Krys realises her dream of the perfect Christmas since childhood may look completely different moving forward

Really off putting cover for a good story about loss, grief and redemption

I really liked the details about the MRT’s and their volunteer roles. I liked how it was woven into the story and I just wish the publisher would not put such girly chic lit covers on her work.
