Summary

Curl up with the perfect cosy listen by the bestselling author of Just the Way You Are.

After the end of a long-term relationship, local weather girl Bea Armstrong has been avoiding her family, and their inevitable 'I-told-you-sos'. But with Christmas fast approaching, she is finally on her way home to Charis House, the school in Sherwood Forest that her mum and dad run in their old family home. And to top it all off, the insufferable Henry Fairfax—who her parents have always wanted her to marry—has also been invited.

Relief comes in the shape of a last minute interview for her dream job. There are just a few minor problems… The interview is in Scotland, Bea has no car, and the snow is falling already. The only solution is for Henry to drive her—could this Christmas get any worse…

But during an unforgettable two day interview, a stay in a log cabin and a nightmare journey through the snow, Henry turns out to be nothing like she thought. And when Bea’s first love and recent ex shows up, Bea has a difficult choice to make…

Listening to Beth Moran’s fabulous novels makes every day better. Feelgood, satisfying, with smart characters and gorgeous settings, it’s impossible not to fall in love with a Beth Moran story. Perfect for all fans of Jill Mansell, Julie Houston, and Jenny Colgan.

A pleasing winter story.

I was looking for something to get me into the festive spirit. This was a fairly engaging pre-Christmas story. It was reasonably entertaining and an easy listen. The central protagonist, a regional weather girl, was interesting enough to hold some interest. I indulged the somewhat predictable and vacuous storyline for the festive bulid up and didn't dread returning to the book. It did its job, in holding my interest, but it isn't the sort of book I'd usually have too much time for.

A beautiful refreshing story of finding love

In this Beth Moran has written another gorgeous story with characters you become really fond of and several outrageous ones too. Had me laughing, willing Bea (the main character) to get together with ….oh I couldn’t possibly spoil it for you. :)
Please write more stories, beautifully inspired and reminding all of us who are rushing around to take time and appreciate the people and places we love.

I liked it

This is my second book from this author and I really like the way she combines serious topics with humor. I recommend it!

Cute slow burn Christmas romance

I really enjoyed the craziness here. There was a lot going on, from her issues at work, to her family drama, grandfather mystery, relationship problems to old childhood frenimies and a crazy job interview with nightmarish road trip and cottage stay.
It's set in the U.K. and we take a trip around d it.
It did feel a bit too long and better editing would have improved the story, but I had a great time reading it and all the loony elements in it.
It's free on both KU and audible (separately).
Great narration.

Easy Listening

I enjoyed this book for what it is - a gentle Christmas romp. However the whole set up at the job interview was just too odd for me. Also after all their efforts to save the school it felt like the writer ran out of energy and gave them an easy out. Still, it helped me get through some very long nights with my newborn!

A feel good Christmas story

This was a perfect listen for the Christmas season with lots of feel good moments, familiar family tensions and an expectable but good outcome. Narrated well with interesting characters.

Great narrator.

No surprises - you knew the outcome from the start but it was an enjoyable story anyway.

FINALLY A BETH MORAN BOOK I LOVE

This festive listen is a favourite of mine now. It was such a great story of weather girl Bea, her family, her job, her friend Henry & her lovelife all in the leadup to Christmas, during Christmas and the New Year! This is the 3rd Beth Moran book i have listened too and the best one!
I rarely give 4 stars unless its brilliant.
I do reccomend this book, I bought it on a 2 for 1 credit of a £2.99 sale

A rather silly story

What a far fetched and awkward story. The main character Bea could not be less believable.
Well read and performed but not one I need to keep in my library to listen to again.
