Summary
Eleanor Sharpley has been living a lie....
Needing to escape her London life quickly, Eleanor throws her things into the back of her car, and heads to her erstwhile best friend Charlie’s family farm.
But Charlie isn’t there. Instead she finds Charlie’s grieving brother, Daniel, her eight-month-old daughter, Hope (a daughter Eleanor had known nothing about) and a crumbling and unloved Damson Farm.
Damson Farm lies at the edge of the village of Ferrington, with the river Maddon flowing at its heart. But Ferrington is a village divided by more than just a river - it is split in two by an age-old feud - between the Old Side and the New Side. Eleanor has run from her problems, straight into a family and a world that has problems of its own.
But Damson Farm has magic, too, and as winter gives way to spring, the old farm starts to come to life under Eleanor’s love and care. The orchard starts to blossom with daffodils and bluebells, and the sound of bees busy in their hives fills the warming air. Can Eleanor bring Daniel and the feuding village of Ferrington back to life, too, or will her secrets catch up with her first?
Beth Moran’s books are heart-warming, funny and completely addictive. Perfect for all fans of Jill Mansell, Julie Houston and Jenny Colgan.

I loved this story, narrator excellent, dragged a bit in parts, but compelling all the same!

Predictably quaint
The book is ok - well read - nice holiday listen but very predictable. Christmas every day is better

Heart warming story with lessons for all!
I can’t believe that I have come to enjoy this genre of writing. As a lifelong Alpha Male who although an avid reader, would be more likely to be found reading or listening to an all action thriller or reading a military biography; I find myself thoroughly enjoying the relaxing stories that this and other authors create. I enjoyed reading this drama that although fiction, had flakes of real life sprinkled through it, highlighting positive qualities whilst combining them with the many challenges life throws at people. Would highly recommend this author and this audible book, which I thought was read well. Discovering a new genre in fiction or music can be really enjoyable.

Badly narrated
I have listened to a few of Beths books now and am sadly disappointed in this one. I got to chapter 16 and it felt so slow I ended up skipping to 4 chapters to the end to get the jist of what happens in the story. Sadly this was through no fault to Beth however as i truly believe this Narrator just isn’t suited for audiobooks, her reading pace was too slow for listening to (to the point I actually put the book on 1.2 speed just to make it bearable to listen to, which i have never done before after years of listening to audiobooks) and her accents for some of the characters were slightly confused and hard to locate what regional dialect she was going for. I will continue through my library and hopefully in the future i will attempt this again with the knowledge that increasing the play speed is necessary so i can hear the full story

Okay
Accents were pretty awful, story was okay but predictable and I didn’t really invest in the love story. Pleasant enough but this was my first Beth Moran book and I don’t think I’ll run out for another

So so
Might have enjoyed it more if the accents weren’t so terrible. Also a fairly predictable plot.

*Secrets*
*Secrets*
Eleanor Sharpley is hiding a secret, she is living a lie and is living a life where she goes to different establishments often writing scathing reviews. The very same reviews that people have hung off her every word. She goes under the pseudonym of Nora Sharp and tried to add balance by adding positive reviews but that was not what was required. She gained quite a following and at the same time losing herself in the process. Although some pushback was expected, things change when she receives a gruesome package delivered to her door, someone knows where she lives.
Eleanor decides to head off to see her best friend Charlie who lives at Damson’s Farm based in the village of Ferrington with the hope of staying for a few days.
When she arrives she is unprepared for meeting not only Daniel Charlie’s brother but her eight month daughter. To her shame she had not even known about her friend’s pregnancy or her passing.
With Daniels’s blessing and offer to stay as long as she likes, Eleanor decides to lovingly look after and renovate the cottage.
The village seems to be split two halves. The Old Side and The New Side. There is so much tension between the two sides due to a Feud and past events and tragedies.
Eleanor aims to unite both sides to much animosity, will Eleanor manage to unite both sides? Is there a budding romance forming and will the secret she is so desperate to keep finally catch up to her.

“Nora Sharp” review following
I love Beth Moran’s books. They are uplifting, enjoyable, humorous, and have very lovable characters. This book did not disappoint. However, the narrator was a huge disappointment. She needs to stop treating a comma in a sentence like it’s a period. All the pauses and stops were very annoying and ruined dialogue and funny parts in the book. I wish Helen Keeley could narrate all of Beth Moran’s books. She did such a fantastic job with “Christmas Every Day,” I just kept thinking how much more enjoyable this book would have been if Helen had narrates it as well. Sorry Marie, but you need to listen to yourself and step up your game! Marie’s accents and voices were very nice, but the pauses were practically unbearable!!

Frustrated by narrator
I love Beth Moran books, but the narrator for this one has driven me to return the book. She speaks pretty quietly much of the time, and frequently speaks so quietly toward the end of a sentence she can’t be heard at all. Too frustrated to stick with it. Perhaps I will read it instead!

new author for me
Such a cute story. I love the character development and the story line. I love that it's clean. I have listened to two of her books now and enjoyed them both. also, the narrative is very good and easy to listen to.

Nice story
This was an easy listening book, that took a few chapters to get into. In my opinion the main characters had zero chemistry, even though I was really routing for them. I think this had more to do with the narration than the story!

Good job
Beth Moran has become one of the authors whose stories I most enjoy listening to. This book had more of a serious note to it than the others, but it was advertised as such. I loved the characters and the narrator was wonderful. I wanted to shake some sense into the main character at times, but she was still lovable. In all, this was a good listen.
