Nice easy listen

Good little story, went on a little but in places, but overall pleasant enough.

A moving and unusual story

This is an beautifully written book which I really enjoyed and can thoroughly recommend.. A very sensitive and authentic depiction of the developing possible relationship between two forty something young people with their own back stories and hang ups. There is lots of lovely detail about contemporary life, houses, and Wales where the story is set.. it is a very satisfying and at times quite serious book although there are smiles too. The narrator seems Welsh as she is very comfortable with the accents and I like her voicing of Gethin. He seems so warm and charming. Would that we could all meet someone like him! She passed my personal narrator test in that you forgot about the reader and were absorbed in the narrative

Pleasant undemanding listening

I do wish that a male narrator had been asked to speak Gethin’s part. Also I wish that the swear word Sh*t had been cut. It was overused and I found it annoying. Lots of tedious domestic detail and conversations at cross purposes. The story is slow but the message is clear. Kindness wins hearts.

very obvious love story

this book started well and was intriguing. sadly though the characters were poorly developed with the main female lead being a very obvious victim. The male character was too good to be true, and lacked depth. I kept hoping for a twist or something to make the story more interesting, but it never came. The story just meandered gently until it became quite boring.
