Summary

Once upon a time, Gray Hartson was her big sister's boyfriend. The most popular guy at school who never noticed a fourteen-year-old dreamer. Then he left town to become a superstar and never looked back.

Ten years later Maddie Clark is all grown up and waiting tables in a diner, when he walks through the door and sends her heart spinning. And for the first time in their lives, he notices her too.

Gray's only back for a few weeks to visit his sick father.

He doesn't expect to meet a beautiful waitress who soothes his pain and paints color into his world.

And he definitely doesn't expect to fall for his ex's baby sister.

He's spent the last ten years singing about heartbreak. Now they're both about to find out how it really feels.

Contains mature themes.

enjoyable

4+ stars

Enjoyed this sweet story of Gray, a rockstar, and Maddie, his highschool girlfriend’s sister.   Great writing and the small town was enchanting.   Looking forward to more of the series.

At 1x speed this was so slow it’s slurred and can’t keep my attention.   Sped it up to 1.8x and better, but words sound clipped - so a lot of the narrator’s talent probably lost.     Female voice for Maddie is pleasant, but the narrator’s male voice for Gray sounds like a female doing a less than stellar job of attempting to talk like a male.
