Summary
New York Times best-selling author Corinne Michaels brings you a new small-town brother’s-best-friend romance.
In one second, my life disappeared.
My past. My memories. My future.
The only certainty I have from the last three years is that my older brother is dead and that I am the only eyewitness.
In order to protect the case, the lawyers demand that no one give me any information about my life...I must remember on my own. My only help comes from my brother’s best friend and world-renowned investigative reporter Spencer Cross.
He has no idea how many nights I’ve spent dreaming of his name—and his body—next to mine.
Now we’re a team, and our goal is to recover my memories and retrace my past. But each day we spend together, he’s looking at me as more than his friend’s little sister, and I find it harder to want my old life back. Instead, I’m wishing for a new one—with him. His kiss feels like home. His arms make me feel safe, and I never want this to end.
As my memories return, forcing me to face my future, everything falls apart...especially when I find an engagement ring hidden in my apartment. I have no idea who gave it to me or what it means about my past.
I may have asked Spencer to help me remember, but now I wish I could forget.

Wow! What an incredible story!
I found this because I was searching for audiobooks narrated by Andi Arndt & Zachary Webber, who are two of my favourite narrators.
I'm so happy that I did. Such an amazing book, with lots of plot twists and suspense. The blurb made it sound enticing, and I was absolutely hooked from Chapter 1, all the way through to the end.
I won't hesitate to listen to more of Corinne Michaels' books and have already downloaded Book 2 & pre-ordered Book 3.

Emotional rollercoaster
This story is one of the best she has written I loved the twists and turns Of the hero and heroine relationship I felt the emotional upheaval of the characters and the conclusion of the story was good also loved the return of some old characters from her other stories. Looking forward to Emmett and holders story it would also be nice for Anniston to get her second chance love story as well here’s hoping.

Love story that draws you in
Tragedy has struck Brielle but as the story develops, Spencer is revealed as suffering the deepest heartache because he cannot say how he truly feels about Brielle.

NOT FOR ME.

The book started good, then it was just frustrating, so like I said on the headline, this story was just not for me. However, most reviews are 5 star reviews, so please don't let my less than stellar review stop you from listening to the story. The narration was excellent.
Here are the points that killed it for me:
1. The main female character suffers a traumatic brain injury which results in amnesia encompassing the last three years of her life up to the incident that caused her TBI. There is supposed to be a criminal case due to the incident, and the people around her are supposed to NOT say anything about those 3 years, as that could "taint" her memories which would jeopardize her future testimony in court. However, she starts to put bits and pieces together and she asks point blanc if what she's been putting together is true or not, and she gets a lie by a person who promised her never to lie, which confuses the heck out of her.
2. The Female MC, who still remembers her whole life, bar the three last years, decides to doubt a person she has known and loved since she was little because that person has lied to her, knowing EVERYBODY has been lying to her, and why. She suddenly decides to forget the good things about this person without even giving the benefit of the doubt.
3. The Female MC, again, who went through a traumatic situation and almost dies, and who has a whole team of people protecting and helping her, runs head first, ALONE, to confront the murderer responsible for her trauma. No backup at all.
So we have a heroine who is supposed to be smart turn into a crazy, stupid person.
I could write two or three more things that bothered me about the story, but this is getting long.
Like I said at the beginning, most reviews are 5 star reviews, so please don't let my less than stellar one stop you from listening to the story.
Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber are, as usual, wonderful narrators.

You never lost me...Not even when I was lost.
Corinne has done it again! This book kept me turning the pages so fast that I didn’t get the chance to skim ahead (as I am notorious for doing). I went into it completely blind (with exception to the blurb of course) and was blown away! The suspense, the drama, the mystery, the romantic tension…ugh, it was all so so good!
The story opens from Brielle’s POV and keeps us there for 9 agonizing chapters, wondering (like her) what the heck happened to her and how her life has changed in the last 3 years that she can’t remember. Chapter 10 switches to Spencer’s POV and BAM! We are let in on his secrets, thought processes, and emotions as he desperately tries to help Brielle navigate her foggy memory to not only re-learn who she is, but also to catch her brother’s killer.
There are a couple of steamy scenes but it is a fairly slow burn, as poor Brielle is struggling to remember who she is engaged to and is confused by her feelings for her brother’s best friend. But the way he feels for her is revealed through his POV and oh, my goodness, it will make your heart go pitter-pat. Their HEA is bitter sweet, as in, they do get one, but her brother was killed before they could tell him. Emmett’s speech at the end helps heal that wound a little, though. ;)
This is book 1 of the author’s newest series and I am SO EXCITED for the rest! While some characters from her previous series make appearances and the sweet little epilogue sets up the premise for the next book, there are no cliffhangers and this one can be read as a complete standalone.
Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber narrated brilliantly, as usual. The way these two can deliver the lines that this author writes is an art form. Passionate, emotional, playful when called for (so it puts a smile on your face even more than just reading the line would have)…just perfect.

Great kickstart to Rose Canyon series
When Brielle wakes up at the hospital she finds out she was hurt in the same attack that killed her brother. There is something else that's disturbing: she has no idea what happened and she has no recollection of the past three years of her life. As she's the only witness to the crime, the police and the lawyers are adamant that she has to remember everything on her own so as to not "taint" her testimony in a trial. Her only help comes from Spencer Cross, her brother's best friend, who happens to be a top notch investigative reporter. She's always had a crush on him and now that they're working together and he seems to be looking at her in the way she always wanted him to, Brielle is no longer sure she wants her old life back, whatever it was. She's still in danger, as the killer is still on the loose, and everything points out to her being the original target. She and Spencer are tracing back her last three years hoping she can trigger her memory back. Until she finds an engagement ring in her kitchen drawer... Where is this man she supposedly loves? And why doesn't she want him back now that she found Spencer?
This one was a fun ride! I can't tell you much more about it because the best part is putting the puzzle pieces back together with poor Brielle. You can't help feeling sorry for her and how frustrated she is with no one being allowed to fill in the gaps for her.
And Spencer...oh Spencer! When you get to the first chapter in his POV your heart just breaks for him.
I have to confess that I guessed everything that happened ( I am freak who figures out plots to great annoyance to all my friends), including who could have killed her brother and attacked he, but that's me. It didn't take anything from my enjoyment of this story!
I also loved to see characters from Corinne's other series popping in! This is also a great kickstart for a new series! A loved the little teaser at the end! The epilogue is soooooo good too!
Narration: Do I even bother you guys again with my praises to Andi Arndt (my narration Meryl Streep) and Zachary Webber? I'll do it anyway: Andi brings all the vulnerability in Brielle with perfection and Zach is top notch as Spencer, but my favorite part is the water balloon fight at the park when Zach does numerous kids' voices! It's to die for!
Possible triggers: FMC suffers from retrograde amnesia from a violent attack: sibling's death; grief; mentions of child abandonment and neglect; mentions of domestic abuse

Ohhhh My Heart ❤️❤️❤️
Yet another masterpiece by Corinne Michaels. My heart broke and I stopped breathing throughout most of the book, and then my heart mended and I sighed with happiness. I listened to this book nonstop today from start to finish, I even made my husband and daughter talk quietly while I listened and made dinner!

An insecure protagonist
Don't know why women write stories where a woman's whole world means nothing without one guy telling her she's beautiful. Whatever happened to being a whole person, without depending on your partner as a crutch. I read it because Andi had done a great job with her impressions of various people on Heidi's. But was disappointed when I saw Zachary Weber. Didn't enjoy his reading in Seatmate and definitely not in this. His reading sounds so angry, never catches the essence of the words, he's always sighing. And the performance ruins that part of the story.
Hope Andi will choose better books with stronger female characters.

Read!!
I absolutely loved listening to this audio book! I love how she brings in characters from previous series. It’s a great way to keep up with characters from others stories. It was easy to fall in love with these new characters and I can’t wait for the journeys the rest of the characters go through!

Amazing Story!
I loved so much about this book! It’s captivating and an unique storyline. The wonderful characters, twists and turns along the way as the suspense around a murder builds. Spencer Cross will make you swoon and your heart will hurt for both him and Brielle. Excellent narration and a beautifully written story.

WOW JUST WOW
Great book and listen. I was sobbing and laughing and on edge... just what a great book should be! When they talked about Isaac at the beginning I thought I'd never stop crying. But then the true love AND heartbreak began. Spencer and Brielle are the ideal couple and the very great brotherhood that is Spencer's friends touches my heart and soul. love this book and is permanently on my favorites list. Great writing Corinna Michaels. Truly a superbly good book.
