About this listen

The Federation races to discover the culprits of several terrorist attacks, sending their flagship, the USS Prometheus, to stop war breaking out in the galaxy.

The situation in the Lembatta Cluster is deteriorating rapidly. Fleets from the Federation and Klingon Empire are heading for the borders. The crews of the USS Prometheus and IKS Bortas are racing against time to break the cycle of violence that is spreading through the Alpha Quadrant.

Adams and Kromm are on the trail of a secret weapons facility but instead discover an enemy from their pasts who seems utterly unstoppable. Together, they search for the answers to their questions before the galaxy goes down in flames.

Great but a little rushed at the end.

Great story and lots of detail from past stories and the current conflicts the federation is part of but not the ending was rushed.

A really good Star Trek story

A really good story, intertwining new characters with old ones.

my only criticism is the narrators mispronounciation of some words through the series. But overall, a good read / listen.

This readers mispronunciations was annoying

This was a very good book and a very good trilogy. The only thing that let the books down was the constant mispronunciations of the reader. His mispronunciations of well known Star Trek characters names and planets names were bad enough but in this book he kept mispronouncing a well known real world naval rank “adjutant”
I found it all very annoying but having said that I still enjoyed these books very much.

Fantastic conclusion to an enjoyable trilogy!

A very enjoyable end to the trilogy in true Trek style. My only criticism would be that there are a few (somewhat forgiveable) mispronunciations of Trek lingo, but these do not affect the otherwise excellent performance from the narrator. Well worth a listen!

Enjoyable but felt oddly off

So, is it Star Trek?
Yep this is Star Trek and I enjoyed how they kept it from beginning big space battles and found other very Star Trek solutions.
But at the same time the characters felt slightly off beat, and after introducing some old characters they promptly didn’t really make use of them. Almost like they didn’t have time to make use of such a big cast, but the. Threw in scenes that just extended a run time with no real benefit.

That said, it was a good listen, and I’ll listen to it again soon.

Awful

I hate writing negative reviews but this was bad.

First the good though, I like Alec Newman’s performance. Easy to listen to as a narrator and gives characters their own distinctive voice. It’s a shame the characters were so bland.

There were two character archetypes, starfleet and tense. No variety or clash of personalities. I know it’s so hard to be original now but this story felt like a rehash of 3 TOS episodes. Too many references to episodes and characters harmed the originality, I couple of references would be nostalgic. The writing had no style, basic and bland. But this had about 20. Even with other books I didn’t like, there was something to redeem them. World building, characters, story progression, style, something. But this… was just hollow. Really sorry.
