Summary
So...the first city he traveled to on a new world wasn’t exactly what he expected....
House Gracefall wasn’t anything like what Derek had imagined it would be. Instead of rage and anger at the loss of one of their young masters, House Gracefall showed humility and even apologized.
Despite one noble house exemplifying honor and nobility, another awaited to reinforce the negative stereotypes that Derek had been anticipating all along. Somehow, out of all that, Derek made a new friend, a new business partner, and learned some secrets, while Silvi got her first taste of the real world of cooking and loved it.

Really Good, easy listen
So I really like that book, it doesnt need to much attention and it was fun listening to it while playing games.
Adam Verner was great as Voice and gave this book warmth and familiarity.
A bit of a spoiler here.
one thing bugs me, how hot can water get? And you sure can tell me its magic, but I was not impressed by really! hot water...xD dork

great continuation of the series!
great story and narration!
well not quite as on the edge of your seat in the beginning of this book, the story progresses wonderfully and everything makes sense.
there's some people complaining about first half of the book being boring, but I would argue that they're just adrenaline junkies with a short attention span. first half the book is a little more slice of Life, but with a op mc twist. the second half of the book gets back to its roots and the adrenaline junkies will enjoy it just fine.
great story and I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book!

Good Slice of life with an OP mc
The first part of this book is pretty tame. the mc hangs about buys some land puts some upstarts in their place and is generally enjoyable listening to Derick steamroll over people trying to "strong" arm him. The second half of the book is where the good stuff happens

Bla bla Boring first half
Hopefully it picks up, feels like a soap opera for old ppl so far. Talking & politics, also no clear goals or reason for everyone being grouped together so much. Feels like chatgpt maybe

Sad it's over.
Derek is still an op mc but we're learning he's not alone in being powerful. Plot is opening up in interesting ways to explore more of this new system world. Mysteries of the void seem to be closer to be solved if not understood. I can see at least three more books depending how author takes things, I'm very excited either way to hear more about Derek and his cute cooking companion aka Sylvie the bunny and the other awesome characters.

Great book!
This is an amazing series. I honestly can’t wait for the next book. The best part of this book for me is that the author does an outstanding job with the ratio between main character and side characters. This is where most authors in my experience have the greatest problem. Again an amazing book and great series.

incredible series.
I love books like the Dresden files, Alex versus, the iron druid and many others. This series is hitting the top of my list of series to follow. The whole thing has a feel that it's leading up to something epic, but instead of feeling like you're waiting for that epic thing to happen, you get wrapped up in the story. you start hoping to see interactions and you genuinely start to like characters. this feels like your watching someone's life unfold, like you don't need to be told that the character feels a certain way. character is very relatable, while still being admirable and everything still feels like the MC is operating within the rules of the environment. they aren't overpowered by some exceptional means, but rather more dedicated than others and as you read, you can see why they were adopted into this overpowered scenario without it being surreal. the characters abd environment arent massively developed, so you let your imagination fill in the gaps. there's enough to build off and clearly enough to see character growth throughout it, so you never feel like you don't know enough and there isn't pages describing the feel of grass either. it's very much like a campfire story but lasts a long time.
look, read this series. it's enjoyable and you don't want to put it down, just waiting for the next holy shit moment. its just a really good story and I'm in love with this series now.
