Summary

I never imagined my first trip to Italy would be to bury my father. But there I was in the beautiful cathedral, alone, with my father’s casket and a handful of soldiers to keep me safe.

It didn’t occur to me that anyone would disrupt the sanctity of the church. Would march in, weapons in hand, and turn my world upside down.

But the Caballero brothers have no regard for the church and even less for my family.

They destroyed the peace of that sad occasion.
They desecrated my father’s body.
And they took what they wanted. Me.

I’m a princess in a tower in a breathtaking villa.
My bedroom overlooks the turquoise sea, but the door is locked.

And I have to contend with not one but two dragons.

Dark mafia romance: Book one 🔥

Book one starts with a funeral, and you are thrown straight away into action. Natasha Knight writes beautifully and knows how to construct a dark mafia story. There’s quite a bit going on so you’ll need to pay attention. Who needs enemies when you could have a family like Vittoria?

Two brothers who plot revenge over 15 years put their plan into motion and capture Vittoria. What happens next will blow you away. Dark dirty secrets, twists, suspense and hatred will all unfold.

Beautiful Emma, sweet Emma, so glad she has Vittoria.

The narrators were fantastic and played their parts well.

What a story - completely addictive

Oh my! What have I just read? I love Natasha Knight’s mafia romance (not sure this can be classed as a romance), and this story, Ruined Kingdom, might just be one of my favourites. I was addicted from the get-go. The Caballero brothers are out for revenge, and they’re using the sister of their enemy to exact that revenge. Vittoria, I loved her, what a strong, passionate, independent woman. She may appear weak, but she’s not, she knows what she’s doing, and she likes it, she accepts it. Lots of drama, secrets, violence and scenes that may offend. I loved it. A few unexpected scenes, and that ending! Wow. Straight into the second audio I go. Just a by the way……. The audio is fantastic, I’ve always been a fan of Natasha Knight’s audios, and Stephanie Kay and James Cassidy (both new to me narrators) were brilliant. James Cassidy especially, with his ability to differentiate Amadeo and Bastian’s very different characters.

🔘 COLD, DARK & DELICIOUSLY BAD.. OK, I’M HOOKED 🔘

One grieving daughter taken at her father’s desecrated funeral.. an act of wrath for cruel deeds he did by physically and emotionally scarring and destroying two young boy’s lives. They swore to get vengeance for what they’d suffered and lost and, to one day, destroy him.. and his family. Two grown men, Mafia Kings with their paths already set from the trauma and bloodshed endured when they were just innocent boys. Three lives now entwined in anger, misery and toxic temptation because unwanted sparks ignite between brothers Amadeo and Bastian Caballero and their pretty pawn whose strength, fire and character challenges them. And her stubbornness, fight and feisty attitude brings out the best.. and the worst, in them. Fifteen years of holding back, researching and planning their moves is a long time to wait for the total annihilation of the evil Russo dynasty.. but lines are getting blurred and they’re running out of time!! They’ve also got enemies who will strike without warning.. or regrets. insert suspenseful music here for the shocking cliffhanger ending.

I usually absolutely love Natasha Knight’s dark romances and, although this was really really good, I didn’t wholly love it because the cruel, nasty, venomous digs and feelings that wavered then flowed like lava through their hot, sexually charged bloodstreams, led to punishment fks rather than passionate ones. There’s secrets that’ll change things when the truth’s revealed. There’s tension and suspense and a lot of angsty verbal attack. There’s MFM hot sex as Vittoria’s attracted to both of these dark destructive brothers. There’s a little character growth.. and there’s a nasty cliffhanger that had me ‘one clicking’ book two in the Duet because the build is good and now I’m hooked.

Worth a credit? Yes definitely, it’s a really good forced Mafia marriage that builds with tension and conflict and twists.. but it’s so much more than that. And the great triple POV narration brings out all the emotional baggage and distrust between them.. and the glimpse of what their relationship could be. There’s a lot to unravel in the web that’s been deviously spun and I’m so looking forward to starting Book 2… which’ll happen right about now.

Bratty Immature Females Not Cute

Good story. Loved the MFM relationship. I’m just really sick and tired of reading these mafia books with the female characters being portrayed as these bratty, immature, and insolent who miraculously turn these vicious killers into docile men. It’s not cute and it’s unbelievable. I like strong women but it’s a romance novel 🤷‍♀️ I almost returned the book.

Average

Performance was good. Story didn't grip me and I couldn't finish. Don't even remember enough about it to say what I didn't like. It was just boring.

Ruined Kingdom

Warning: Too many triggers! I hate RH as much as I hate rape scenes & cliffhangers! Had I known in advance I would have never ever purchased this book!
Narration is the only thing good about this book. Is it worth the credit? For me it’s a HELL NO! For the above reasons described.

Brothers want revvenge

Brothers want revenge for their sisters death. They go to the funeral of a mafia kingpin and shoot the already deceased man beyond recognition. Then kidnap his daughter. The story gets darker and may have some disturbing content for some readers. If you can get past that you will like this well written story.

2Dude Romance+ Cliffhanger

Oh wow so I just yelled WTF Super loud….. completely forgot about the cliffhanger warnings…..a confusing cliffhanger at that!
Besides that nonsense..Book was ok. Not one of The authors best. Personally not a huge fan of the 2 guy thing. Not that it isn’t hot and all..I just usually find them incredibly unrealistic. Or the girl kinda comes across as a piece of meat who thinks she’s all that, but was sadly left out of the joke…
As far as 2 guys one girl relationships/stories, this one was actually way less ridiculous than expected. There is actually an interesting and believable dynamic between the two brothers and this enemy woman they kidnapped.
Not as much sex as you would think. Can honestly say this is not just a smut for smuts sake book.
Worth a credit? Hmmm I’m on the fence. I would prob say no but then I heard the cliffhanger and now I REALLY want to know what happened….. I’m going to say worth a credit if you don’t have a better choice.
