A California Young Reader Medal-winning series
Sophie battles the rebels - and recovers dark memories from her past - in this jaw-dropping fourth audiobook in the best-selling Keeper of the Lost Cities series.
Sophie Foster is on the run - but at least she’s not alone. Her closest friends from the Lost Cities have gone with her to join the Black Swan. They still have doubts about the shadowy organization, but the only way to find answers is to start working with them. And as they settle into their new lives, they uncover secrets bigger than anything they’d imagined.
But their enemies are far from done and unleash a terrifying plague that threatens the safety of an entire species. Sophie and her friends fight with everything they have - with new allies joining them - but every choice has consequences. Trusting the wrong person could prove deadly.
In this game-changing fourth audiobook in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Sophie must question everything to find a truth that will either save her world - or shatter it.

This series is on par with Harry Potter books
As an adult that loves the HP series, I can honestly say that this series is just as good. You won’t be disappointed. But just as with HP books, you must read this series in order. Enjoy!

Best book yet
After what happens in the last book, Sophie and the gang join the Black Swan to get some answers and defeat the Neverseen. Also, there's a plague that's slowly killing off gnomes
There are some interesting new characters, with cool new abilities introduced in this, there's an engaging mystery. Sophie's abilities are still awesome. There is betrayal and shock in this one, and answers to a lot of long-held questions.
Also, of the 100+ books I read this year, it's the only one to make my cry
Best book in the serie so far, The narrator does a great job with all the different voices, and this was still easy for me to follow at 1,75 speed. And that's not always the case

Excellent, good and evil, honorable protagonist
I sometimes complain about weak writing, critically compromised main characters, or fundamental misunderstandings about life portrayed as normal, respectable, or factual. It aches to have to read such poorly chosen details in any book and sometimes it is the featured content of a book, making it certainly garbage, despite thoroughly developed writing skill. This book is of the purest, most well written line of books I have read all year, and stands above and beyond general expectations for the genre.
The story has love, family, forgiveness, friendship, betrayal, naive-stupidity, intuitive wisdom, and more character qualities than I can comfortably list. The well written story is the shining start. The very complimentary narrating is most agreeable as well.
The narration may not be the best I've ever heard, but it is certainly excellent and has qualities most people will appreciate. The narrator does not have an annoying voice or technique, and does a consistent and recognizable impression of the characters. Those two qualities are enough to please most listeners, but she also understands the most appropriate timing and rhythm to convey the moment unto the imagination of the listeners. All around she is probably in my personal top three list of preferred narrators.

Fantastic story! Don't love the voices
I love this series, but I don't love the voices used in the performance - particularly Keefe's. He sounds pretty whiny rather than carefree (as the story itself suggests.) I would recommend reading the book on your own first before listening to it on audible, so you can form your own opinions on characters :)

So sad!
I love this book but it is really sad and I don’t want to spoil anything but really Keefe how could you?! Anyway I am totally buying the next book Lodestar and if Messenger is reading I hope Keefe comes to is senses cause it’s not the same without him and it’s not Foster Keefe without Keefe! So if you want to know what I’m talking about go buy this book or your missing out on a big chance to read a really really really great book but this is the 4th in the series so if you haven’t read the other books in the series you should read those first before reading this one.😂🤣
