Summary
When Rome Pierce moved to Bear Bottom, Texas, it was his intention to lay low. To not be seen. To find a way to heal his body and soul - as well as his son's. Nobody would know by looking at him that he used to play professional football. Not with the Bear Bottom MC cut covering his back, and definitely not with his friendly smile completely obliterated.
No longer is there charm in each smooth word that comes out of his mouth. What's left is an angry, bitter, scared man who's terrified one day he's going to wake up and his entire world is going to be gone. Nobody knows what drove him to leave the game he loved - nobody but her.
She's the one person who has helped him make it through the dark days and even darker nights. She's the bright and shining star in his pitch-black sky. And he doesn't even know her name.
He should be afraid that she knows things that not anyone - not even his best friend - knows. Yet with each encounter, he gives what little bit of his soul remains, and before he knows it, only two people on this earth - one dying and one too afraid to live - make his life worth living. Until one day he has to choose - the love of his life or the life he brought into this world.
Two impossible situations. One decision that would change him forever.
Contains mature themes.

Good story but not a MC biker book
Pretty great Story make sure you have a tissue box with you, Lani Lynn Vale wrote a very good story, however I would not classified this as a MC Biker book. But you won’t be disappointed on listen to a good story... my heart broke several times and tears ran down my face. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 thanks for a good story to listen too

Best listen by Lani Lynn Vale
Loved listening to Aiden Snow and Kendall Taylor. They made this book come to life. I hope Mrs Vale uses these narrators for future books. Pure perfection.

Please do not add a sequel to this mess
The premise presented in the description sounded interesting. A dying son, two people meet under unlikely circumstances and fall in love, a motorcycle club holding together a grieving father. But binding these elements together into a believable story was far beyond the author's ability. I assume the author gave up and threw in a detailed sexual encounter to fill a chapter. The added a nonsensical , unnecessary plot to murder the female character over a discovery which had no place in the story.
The only redeeming quality was the Male narrator. Otherwise the characters were flat, the plot disjointed, leaving me wondering why I wanted 9 hours hoping for anything to rescue this mess.

I WAS SADLY DISAPPOINTED
I started loving this book, but afterward I was just disappointed. To me this was not a romance, but a tragedy.
The narrators were great, though.
I am trying to loose the bad habit of writing spoilers (with their proper *SPOILERS ALERT* of course) when writing a review, and this will be my first try.
The main characters go through hell and back, first each on their own, and then together. Then there comes a time when their mettle is tested and the male main character comes out lacking. To me he became a wuzz right there. I lost all respect for him, and no matter what the author wrote afterward, it wasn't enough for me to sympathize with him anymore.
The heroine has gone through similar and/or worse situations, but she shows more backbone than he does. She is selfless and giving towards him, sometimes too much so. She meets challenges head on, while our hero sorts himself out - being selfish and hurtful while dealing with his demons.
There's also one problem with the heroine later on that I couldn't get past. She is asked for help by two individuals, one of whom she is supposed to care for. She proposes a solution that doesn't help them much, and then she doesn't follow up with them even knowing the type of danger they were in. She doesn't ask anybody else to look out for them or help them either. It is only three month later, after all hell breaks loose, that we get to find out what happened to them.
I am sorry to be the one with the bad review. I guess all the high ratings made me have higher expectations for this book.

A Heartbreaking find yourself book!
I Loved This book! The characters are so full of emotions that you just can't help pulling for this couple. Both are heartbroken and full of love if they can just learn to trust and let the light in.

Holy Crap
I've never cried during this much reading a book, I cried more than when I read Where the Red Fern Grows. I think this is Lani Lynn Vale's best book yet. Don't worry though, there is a HEA.
