Summary
Taima, a.k.a. Tai, is the last person people come to for help. He’s the fuck up...the bad boy...the guy that only looks out for himself.
Which couldn’t be further from the truth.
He’s fought hard to become the man he is today. He’s a hero in the public’s eye. A firefighter that the young all the way to the old turn to for help at the lowest point in their lives.
What people don’t know, though, is that he’s no hero. He’s the reason his sister is dead, and he’ll spend the rest of his life trying to right that wrong.
Then one split second decision has him coming face to face with Mia Darling. The woman changes his life, making him reevaluate everything he thought he had figured out, and showing him the tenderness he never knew he needed.
Just like always, though, his luck runs out.
When the smoke settles, Mia’s gone, and Tai realizes there’s no way he can live the rest of his life without her. He’ll show her just how hard a bad boy will fight to get his woman back, and he’s not opposed to fighting dirty.

What the Heck?
LLV changed the formula of the narrators and it tanked. Like I've said before, narrators can make or break an audio book. Why has Mason Lloyd and Kendall Taylor all of a sudden not the "go to* narrators for these new books? I think they are the ones that successfully brought the characters to life. Lidia Dornet did a bang up job too, but the new narrators in the last few books that were released (I'd say the last four or five books) have ruined the LLV experience. Please stop with these new narrators, especially the females. Where on Earth are you finding them!?

Lots of tears
This book is probably the saddest of the books I have read by Lani Lynn Vale. Sweet, but sad.

Great Listen!!
This was my first time reading Author Lani Lynn Vale and I was shocked at the emotions this author provoked in me.
The author writes a heavy plot but delivers it with a fast-paced, effortless flow that had me totally invested from beginning to end. Highly enjoyed Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder and look forward to more from this author and these narrators!!

Heartbreakingly beautiful!
5 Heartbreakingly Beautiful Stars
It's been a while since I actually read this one, so listening to it just brought back all the original feels I had for Tai and Mia. These two meet in a most unconventional way, but quickly form a bond that neither quite understand at first. The narrators did an amazing job bringing to life all the feelings leaping off the pages of this book. They made me feel every word of this story. This is the reason I love audiobooks.

2 stars for EWilder performance
Listening to Emma Wilder narrate was painful & added no value to a weak storyline. I love Jason Clarke, he's a 5+star performer. I won't be listening to the other Kilgore Fire series. The other issue I had was how this story started out. I get this is fiction & romance where insta love is a thing. But come on within 30 seconds of the two main characters meeting what unfolds is just not plausible at all. Save your credits.
