Summary

Crack CIA analyst Trista Gold is a whiz with the computer, but not so much with people. She hides behind her job, analyzing top-secret code and making recommendations on national security. She doesn't need a man in her life. But she will, very soon....

CIA K-9 officer Sgt. Matt Connors suspects that beneath Trista's uptight appearance, there's a sexy woman itching to cut loose. But he doesn't dare act on his attraction. He's a loner and always will be. Keeping away from Trista is a must-do directive. Until he doesn't have a choice....

During a routine assignment, Trista stumbles across a cryptic exchange. She doesn't think much of it...until someone tries to murder her - twice. Both times, Matt had been there to save her. But now she has to hide. And her new bodyguard, Matt, and his K-9 are the only hope she has against the powerful forces that want her dead.

Good

The author and narrator are new to me. I enjoyed the story. Vanessa Daniels was ok. She took a while for me to get used too. I was hooked into the story from the very first, the suspense. I did get tired of the repeat of how drab the heroine was and REALLY sick of how the hero didn't deserve to be happy. I just kept listening the story did get better . Tee O'Fallon writes about sensitive subject of OUR HEROS needing counseling and what some think as a taboo it is to receive it and how to deal with this issue. All in all it was a good story.

Could not listen to it.

The plot and characters were interesting. I may have enjoyed the book if there weren't so many curse words. In my opinion, they add nothing to the story. Is there a version without all the cursing? I returned it to Audible.

Good story

I read several K9 series and this is definitely one to try the next one and see how it goes. The characters are ones you can relate to even with their flaws. Mystery part was okay but not one that surprised me. A bit more sex than perhaps necessary so if you don't like that just skip ahead. Hoping the series continues on with Matt's friends.

Earning trust of man and beastI

I enjoyed this book. There was a balance with man, woman and beast. I liked the attention the dog generally gave people that feared him

Entertaining story and narration

This book has great characters with all their faults and strengths. I love the dog as well. The story has suspense and excitement and a great ending. The narration is very good. The book is a bit longer than I prefer, but it is entertaining.

Dogs and Cops, who could ask for more

I loved this book. Action from the very first page. Unseen plot twist which made me want for more. I'm all about dogs, but the intro to her cat was a nice and comedic part of the story.
l. recommend this book for all ages and a K-9 LEOs out there.

Should have been good .........

It was just too slow and the characters just were a bit boring - it felt fairly forced, we keep getting told what they are internally thinking but there is not much action to back up the thoughts.
I cant quite put my finger on it - its not terrible, but also not interesting

Slow start

Disappointing start too much repetitive dialogue trying to create a sexual tension. Otherwise when the intrigue of the story finally came it was compelling.

Both MC are terrible.

This book is about 4 maybe 5 hours too long. It's so repetitive. MMC feels like he's not worthy of love and the FMC is just mentally weak. She's a doormat and Matt seems to have no problem taking what he wants from her and leaving her to pick up the pieces while he internally whines to himself about how he doesn't deserve to be happy. In all, there was no groveling period after treating the FMC like just another one of his hook ups. I'm going to take a break from this author. Still not sure if I'll come back to finish the series. I can't get over a mentally weak FMC. It's pathetic.
