Summary
He's trying to forget....
Alex Stewart, ex-Marine and tough-as-nails boss of the fledgling covert surveillance company, The TEAM, ditches his success and flees to his cabin in the deep woods. He's had enough. Four years after the deaths of his wife and daughter, he's been stuck in the anger stage of grief. Life used to make sense.
Not any more.
She's trying to remember....
Left to die in those same deep woods, Kelsey is the last thing Alex expects to find at his cabin. She's everything he's running from. Responsibility. Memories. Having to care about someone who could hurt him. To make matters worse, she can't remember her name. Neither can she explain the marks on her body, nor why two darling baby boys haunt her dreams.
But Alex can....

Alex
I stayed up all night listening to this book with a great main character and awesome narration by Troy.
This is a really good suspense story with elements of romance and some steamy scenes but no erotica.
The story revolves around the growing relationship between two lost and lonely souls. There is a lot of violence and some seriously gut wrenching scenes as our hero Alex battles the Villain for his fair lady.
There is a HEA but to get there I went through a box of tissues and a lot of chocolate. It is a roller-coaster of a ride but we'll worth getting.
Looking forward to finding out what Iris has in store for the rest of Alex's team. I say bring it on....

Hooked from the 1st chapter
What made the experience of listening to Alex the most enjoyable?
Troy brings the characters to life with his narration, his voice is amazing no matter the gender or ethnicity of the character. I forget that it's only him narrating throughout the story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Alex?
Even though it's Alex's story, I love watching the relationship between Harley and Kelsey.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Kelsey remembers what happened, it feels like you're right there with her. It's heart-wrenching and you just want to hug her through the pages of the book.
Any additional comments?
This story keeps you on your toes the entire time. You're kept wondering what happened to Kelsey's children, and what her husband is truly capable of. It's amazing journey to go on with the characters, and it gets you hooked for the rest of the series!

Great romantic suspense
This was a well narrated and entertaining audiobook, with the story of 2 people who experience the worst losses imaginable and find each other by accident. I highly recommend this first book in a series!

Emotional & Heart-wrenching!
This is an emotional and heart wrenching story that will stay with me for a while. I cried tears of sorrow and joy and fell in love with not only two special people, but also with two amazing dogs! Alex and Kelsey are both grieving from tragic loses and both endure unbelievably difficult experiences before they can finally accept love. Be prepared for an emotional ride you won't soon forget. I enjoyed this emotionally packed story.
Troy Duran does a wonderful job narrating and brings the story to life.
I look forward to the next book in this series.

Amazing Romantic Suspense!
This was my first Irish Winters's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book In the Company of Snipers Series, an amazing Romantic Suspense. The story is captivating, suspenseful, heartbreaking, and filled with twists and turns. Impossible to put it down! Troy Duran did an outstanding job with the narration. He has a great voice, easy to understand, and the characters were easy to distinguish. I enjoyed listening this audiobook, and I can't wait for the next book in the Series!

Bad book and barely okay narration..
Yeah, I have a hard time with military men who own a “covert surveillance business” saying words like “heck” and “dang.” That sounds totally ridiculous, IMO. If you’re going to write a military story then have them talk like military men.
That being said, I can’t finish this book. I can’t go through 345 pages of hecks and dangs. At this point I’m done. I can certainly see why there are 211 reviews on this book and 65 on the next and 46 on the one after that, to where several of the series only has 20 and 30-something reviews. A military man saying heck and dang just don’t cut it.
I used my iPad to do a search and it’s at page 208 when they finally have sex. I have no idea what kind it is: hot and steamy or vanilla. I really didn’t care since the men didn’t talk like men so how good could the sex be.
As to the narrator: He was barely ok. He did sound masculine when he did Ashley’s voice, and that was kind of annoying, but Alex’s voice was nice and sexy.

Stunning
What a fantastic listen!
For the record, I chew through audio books rapidly. I average around 20 a month.
This one was my first exposure to both the author and the narrator, I will most assuredly be going back to continue the tale.
Romance themed novel often take such a predictable path. There is a specific formula that has been proven over and over again. Meet up and call in love, short period of perfection, major drama leads to break up, get back together and happily ever after. And while that may be to roots of this book as well, the journey is emotional, empathetic, thought provoking, and real.
Definitely worth your credit, and your valuable time.
Kudos to Troy on the amazing narration!

What a ride!
Thrilling suspense, twists and turns and romance. What more can I ask for? Irish Winters has begun this series with a bang. Alex is ex-military running a lucrative surveillance company, staffed by other ex-military. He lost his wife and young daughter 4 years ago, and now has found a woman near his own door, with no memory and scared. Kelsey has run from her previous life with no recollection of who she is or what happened to her. When Alex finds out Her identity, and what is coming up, he does his best to keep her safe. But what will happen when she remembers it all, and will he be able to keep her safe? This fast moving, action packed story had me on the edge of my seat. Scenes are heartbreaking, leaving me sad and angry. At the same time, there are feelings growing, healing and hope Keeping me interested and listening. I love how Winters has combined all the things I love into this story, adding characters like Harley for us to meet and look forward to and let 's us experience this storyas it unfolds. It's a must listen and has left me wanting book 2.
To enhance the experience, Troy Duran uses his talent to bring the story to life. Duran has such great acting ability and is able to pull you into the scenes and let us live it. His voices are spot on for the personalities of the characters and he really adds so much to the book. It's great and I hope he continues to perform the series .

Cannot find the words.....
I purchased this book because of the narrator. He's one of my favorites. This was my first "listen" to this author but not the last. This story had everything. I can't find the words except to say it had everything! I laughed, cried, was completely captivated. Wow!
