Summary

With her infant son clutched to her breast, Maggie Stanley flees for her life. She has abandoned everything else to escape her abusive family. Ragged and hung-over, Rafe Kendricks is also on the run, trying to erase memories of the accident that killed his wife and child. Maggie and Rafe meet in a moment of mutual need, but soon the young woman will find that Rafe is not who he appears to be. Baby Love is a moving story of the heart and its capacity for love and trust.

With Suzanne Toren's lyrical narration, each scene, whether tender or violent, takes on added emotional depth.

Catherine Anderson has published 16 romance novels and is a New York Times best-selling author. Her works, including Cherish, have quickened the pulses of readers around the world.

Narration terrible

I am on part two, a total of about 7 or so hours in and the female character starts and continues to sound like some insipid weak character who has a high squeeky voice with odd pauses in her sentences like "I (pause) dont (pause) know (pause) what (pause) you are (pause) talking (pause) about." You get the point. The irony is this woman is suppose to be so strong and tough and has been through so much and to make her sound like a little meak thing makes it just awful. The male is OK but could be better. I have heard great narration before and this is not one.

The storyline I like, but it is really hard to get through and at this point i am only finishing it to not feel like i totally wasted my money

This audiobook could have been Really Good with a different narrator.

Generic and predictable...

I bought this based on the other reviewers but really wished I wouldn't have! It was predictable and generic..the characters were weak, the voices the narrator used were annoying and didn't fit the characters. I couldn't finish it...

Overall...

Overall this was an intriguing story.
What I couldn’t handle was Maggies’s whining over and over about her stretch marks, her saggy breasts. Over & over !!!
Drove me bonkers.
Otherwise was entertaining

good book, terrible narrator

I loved this book when I read it, but the narrator was so bad that she ruined it for me. She read the main character, Maggie, with an annoying simpering falsetto. I did like her male voices, but unfortunately, that's only half the time. I would suggest a pass on this one.

ok

The story of Baby Love was very good but could have been great. I know I will never listen to it more than once. There narriators vocalization of the heroin was so weak. It reminded me of the "Kung Foo" 70s TV show. I could over look it once, not again.

Narrators voice detracts from story

I really wanted to like this book. I tried to see past the annoying voices, especially Rafe, but I couldn't. The heroine was too weak. With one chapter left in the book I gave up.

Heroine was a whiny wuss

The performance made a character that I had previously considered strong seem mealy and weak.

Heart Warming

Loved this story, the narrator Suzanne Toren, one of my favorites, brings all the people to life.

Don't Buy

What disappointed you about Baby Love?

Very harlequin romance like. shallow and boring, the voices were so hard to listen to I didn't even make it a forth of the way through and quit listening.

Would you ever listen to anything by Catherine Anderson again?

I don't know this was my first try listening to this author

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Suzanne Toren?

I don't know

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I thought the idea was good, but it just turned into a shallow story.
