Summary
THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE WATER...
When the ancient waters of Lady’s Well in the rural village of Holystone begin to run red, it seems to be a nasty Hallowe’en prank and nothing more. But things take a sinister turn when the entire village suffers severe poisoning, and one old man turns up dead.
Accusations abound in the small close-knit community, and ‘old’ religions spar against ‘new’ while fear runs like wildfire through the streets. With so many potential motives and countless opportunities, there’s only one man who can help solve this particular mystery…
Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced crime whodunnit, set amidst the spectacular Northumbrian landscape.

I binged all 19 and had to wait for 20.
LJ Ross is a favourite author of mine, this doesn’t disappoint. I love DCI Ryan and totally adore the hilarious Frank.
Keebles performance is flawless he is always going to be DCI Ryan ♥️

Lacking excitement
I have read all DCI Ryan books twice and loved them but this latest left me disappointed too much filling and not enough plot

Bit of a let down
After reading all the DC Ryan books I was really looking forward to reading book 20. Jonathan keeble, as always, brought the whole thing to life, but the story itself was weak and I guessed the protagonists very early on.

Not her best
Quite enjoyed it as I love the characters however I think I’d worked out many of the twists long before they and that’s a shame as it is not like the usual offerings - still love frank though he’s a legend!

Another amazing story!
The author that just keeps on giving. The characters in all his novels are one big family and not only do the solve the crimes, they tell you the history which is Northumberland and The North East.

Fabulous
