I love LJ Ross books but was starting to tire of the endless drooling between Anna and Ryan so good to see an interesting link to one of the intermittent characters in the Ryan books and a new direction in the series. Was far too short though look forward to a longer story next time !

Good start to a new series

I was wary on this book at first. however, LJ Ross has done it again. Alexander Gregory will make another good series and will look forward to reading more.

excellent

L J Ross does like a good cliché, but she can also spin a yarn that keeps you going. The final ‘twist’ will not be a surprise to anyone, but the culprit of the central plot was well covered up.

Hugh Dancy does have a nice style, but I think the only Irish voice he’s ever heard is Ian Paisley, because everyone in Mayo sounds like they have recently transplanted from Ulster!

Terrible accent, but pretty good storytelling

I really enjoyed this book. Lots of twists along the way- good narration. For once I didn’t guess who did it.

this had a completely different feel to the ryan thrillers and I loved it. The character of Gregory was thoughtful and appeared full of self doubt, and the setting of the small Irish town was interesting. The narrator was entirely right for the both the character and setting, with a sense of calm that would be right for a psychologist. I really enjoyed this book and her new character.

another winner from lj ross

A great read but the Irish accent was awful. Story based in west of Ireland but characters sounded at best, as if they were from border counties. Made it difficult to listen to but plot was very engaging. Some other inaccuracies included a town mayor calling shots on a garda investigation..would not happen.

Great read..cringe irish accent .

Having enjoyed the inspector Ryan stories on audible I thought I’d give this a whirl! Not ground breaking but I wasn’t after that (more an Agatha Christie style) - perfectly tame to listen to whilst gardening (despite the ‘interesting’ accent) so looking forward to the next book.

Love a who done it!
