Summary
From the International number one best-selling author of the DCI Ryan Mysteries.
A Best Audiobook- Fiction Finalist at the New York Festivals Radio Awards .
Impostor, is the first instalment in Ross's brand new Dr Alex Gregory series, narrated by actor Hugh Dancy.
After an elite criminal profiling unit is shut down amid a storm of scandal and mismanagement, only one person emerges unscathed. Forensic psychiatrist, Doctor Alexander Gregory, has a reputation for being able to step inside the darkest minds to uncover whatever secrets lie hidden there and, soon enough, he finds himself drawn into the murky world of murder investigation. In the beautiful hills of County Mayo, Ireland, a killer is on the loose. Panic has a stranglehold on its rural community, and the Garda are running out of time. Gregory has sworn to follow a quiet life but, when the call comes, can he refuse to help their desperate search for justice?
Murder and mystery are peppered with dark humour in this fast-paced thriller set amidst the spectacular Irish landscape.

Brilliant!
I didnt think that the author could better 'Ryan' but I was wrong. The book grips you from page one and I didnt guess the culprit until the very end - which has a final twist to the story. can"t wait to read the next book!

Excellent!
Really good start to a new series. Well drawn characters, well narrated.
Brilliant ending, which I didn’t see coming and I ALWAYS see the “twists” however, the experience of not seeing it made me a little more disappointed that I so often miss the enjoyment that a surprise can bring.
Well worth a credit and I hope you enjoy it too. About to listen to the next instalment.

Enjoyable listen
That was a great story beautifully read. The accents, the switch from character to character and the pace was excellent.
It was an easy listen, one that kept you going. Looking forward to the others in the series.

Very good start to a new series of novels
Good characters, interesting plot. Loved the setting in Ireland. Hugh Dancy narrated well aside from the Irish elements. His Irish accents were all over the place and he did not pronounce the Irish names correctly - that was very irritating and distracting and so I deducted one star for that. Narrators and the Audible production team should look up how to pronounce the Irish names before completing the recording. I had guessed early on the twist at the end of the epilogue, but the identity of the murderer in the main plot was not as obvious and it took me longer to work that out. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
