Summary
A godless miracle worker. A suicidal teenager. Can a young woman save the dying when the backlash whittles away at her life?
Jane Davis isn’t a hero. A twenty-five-year-old rebellious vagabond, she’s stupefied when she discovers she’s developed supernatural powers. Desperate for answers, her search catapults her into the orbit of a disturbed teen carrying a devastating secret—magic and horrific monsters are spreading.
Joining forces, Jane and her young mentor scramble to navigate a swelling river of blood. But with living nightmares stalking her every move and chilling revelations shredding her trust, the determined survivor fears she’s grossly misplaced her faith.
Can Jane save herself, her spiraling friend, and the disintegrating world when each miraculous casting extracts a gruesome price?
Indie Saint is the first book in Words of Power, an engrossing dark urban fantasy quartet. Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets the Umbrella Academy with a morally gray ensemble cast full of found family, wild brawls, and spicy m/f and m/m love stories.

Cryptids and "Impossible Books" are my jam!
If you know me at all, you'll know that it'd be nearly impossible for me to pass up this tale, because Cryptids and "Impossible" books, are my jam!
In this universe, books can be dangerous things... just imagine that simply by reading a book, it could unlock your own dormant magical power! Not all books have this power, but the older a book gets and the more times it's been read, makes it more likely for this situation to occur. Hmmmm... it's a wonder that reading hasn't been outlawed altogether! if you're a reader, this could happen to you, and without proper training, you might actually be a danger, not only to society, but to yourself as well!
Luckily, there are safeguards in place... a branch of law enforcement, whose "Literary Agents" are dedicated to hunting down dangerous books and wild magic users...
This is the story of two women that recently unlocked their powers! One woman read a book about Saints and started performing miracles, and the other... well she read The Never Ending Story!
Fans of Jim C Hines and his Magic Ex Libris will adore this series!
Chelsea Stevens gave a great performance as the narrator of this story!

Already pre-ordered the next 2!!
Quite enjoyable, my only complaint is I've been left wanting more and the next two aren't out yet (soon though) would recommend as a fun urban fantasy romp.

Exquisitely done
Great characters you can almost touch, unique world, fun nod to avid readers in the mythos, and really just a fun read. If you love reading, this is your hero universe. That statement will make way more sense after you read this book.

Fantastic!
After the first few chapters, I thought it would be cute but underwhelming. But it really wasn't! The complexity just keeps building, but in a subtle way that's not overdone. Really good story, great characters, and a fantastic world.
The narration was also wonderful! There were a few times where I thought it must be a second narrator, just because the voice was so perfect for drastically different characters that it didn't seem like it could be the same person. Really well done!
Looking forward to seeing where this series goes :)

Interesting and Fresh
Sort of an Inkheart, modern day saint, fairytale mashup. Love the underlying issue that seemed to pop out at the end there. Can't wait to see where the story goes.

Well, that was different
Chelsea Stephens did a brilliant job of bringing VK Fox's work to life. This story required a reader who could shift from humor to horror seamlessly...and she did. Everything flowed. Everything pulled you in. Bravo.

Awesome
Everything you ever want is right here: magic, mystical creatures, religion, action, adventure, love, hope, despair, deception…the list goes on and on. I reserved my review after reading the entire series. I found myself constantly wanting to pick up the next book in the series or listen on Audible whenever I had the chance. It certainly does not disappoint - a must read!

tried to listen and at 3 hours left I couldn't finish. The narrators did a good job, but the story just never grabbed me to want to finish listening.

Must listen!
This book is set in an interesting world where books have the power to imbue magic. They main characters are also interesting and fleshed out. If you are looking for a good adventure this is the book to read. My only criticism is that some things are not well explained in the first book. I believe that this was done so they could be revealed latter, but it makes some of the scenes a little confusing.
